HAHA! My last build had a 14 pound, pure copper, limited edition tower heatsink on it that the manufacturer said not to use in standup cases because it would flex the motherboard. I had galvanized wire running through the fins, going underneath the heat pipes, and then anchoring to a brace in the top of the case. Been running great for six years, but I'm still paranoid when I move it.

It's really nice, but I've got that really fat Arctic Cooler, so couldn't top mount it without it colliding with the heatsinks on the mobo. Good thing I could front mount it, since you can stick a radiator on the top, bottom or front, in this case. Still bummed all the tempered glass cases had no 5 1/4" drive bays, though. That Arctic Cooler is a pain to mount no matter the case. You've got to run the screws through the mounting holes on the case, then through the fans, and then into the radiator. There's tons of holes you can route cables into the side compartment, so pretty easy to do a clean build on it.

I don't know if you can see it too well in the pics, but I did bend front narrow bar when I leaned on the case a bit while building it. So that's a weak spot on the case.

All in all I'm pretty happy with it, though.

Nice to see your rig. I was crashing around on the GeekBench 4 site last night looking at Ryzen results and I swear your handle was like on every frigging page, lol.

In fact I saw quite a few of the folks from here. I have a mild build by comparison to most of you for sure. When I get it in the new case I'll post some shots but it will wow nobody but me. I'm thrilled to have it compared to my old i7-3770K I've been running a LOOONNGGG time now.

yeah..lol...my 8350 is on geek 4 and 3...more so on 3 i think.....i have not posted any new geekbench runs on my 1800x for a while now but i will sooner or later
but my 8350 along with rankdropper are among the top in the 8350's .....i have a pre 9590 8350 so it basically runs like a 9590....just wish i had the imc abilities the 9590 has....but my 1800x is awesome to ....just updated to 1107 test bios ....so far things are looking pretty good .....3200 mhz ram speeds with no bclk ....and that in itself is a great feat for my ram...lol....i love geeking out and working on my rigs! and overclocking them to the MAX!......lol....good times...
and it dont matter how one's rig does look man...as long as you're happy with it ...that's all that counts .....i do not like how my rigs are looking now ...lol....
but good things are to come! i can't wait till i get that Thermaltake Tower 900....i need my 8350 back in this Core X9 back under water...lol...ill be doing some major upgrades this summer.....i want that ek mono block for this Crosshair VI Hero.....and all new rads and reservoirs and VEGA 10 in crossfire will be joining the 1800x then my 8350 can get its 390's back and its 1500w psu that is totally overkill for this Ryzen build ... and be running back at 5+ghz

All that really matters is enjoying building and using it! All my old builds were completely hideous rats nests inside, but I loved them all equally

I think the only reason I even bothered to try and work on aesthetics this time is because it's been SOOO long waiting for AMD to release something worth building a new system for. I was still running a Phenom II X6 1090t that I picked up the week they released, way back in like 2010 or whenever. Before that, I built a new system every other year. So I decided to go all out on this one since it had been so long, and that quickly turned into a heavy focus on aesthetics as well, trying to get decent wire management for once.

Hell I even finally bought a new computer desk to go with it (been working on a wobbly handmade table for three years) and, no joke, spent two days working on cable management on the desk for my Ryzen build and my work computer. Had my whole office torn apart for an entire weekend. But there's not a single cable touching the floor for once, and everything is neatly attached to the underside of the desk and zip tied into bundles.

A big change from the fire hazard I had in here two months ago. I'm fairly sure I could have built a few kittens out of the cat and dog hair that came out of the wiring nests that I cleaned up.

    I appreciate the encouragement, fellows.

The avatar here is really me. I'm almost 62 and I've been in computers since little single-board microcontroller trainers in the 1970's (my first one had 1K of ram, no joke). But other than being obsessed with Doom, Quake and Descent a bit back in the 1990's I wasn't a big gamer. I never cared about aesthetics one whit.

Then the new Doom came and I wanted it. I was talking to my grandsons who gamed on consoles then that I was thinking about making my photo editing system a gaming machine and they were big time urging me to do so. That was quite successful so then I ended up building the two oldest boys some basic gaming systems so they could get off the consoles and have a bit "more".

Well, you probably know how it goes, right? You start watching YouTube and see these awesome systems built by JaysTwoCents, PaulsHardware, Bitwit, et-al and suddenly you're thinking "my system looks like absolute crap.".

I can't bring myself to justify a full water cooling loop and my i7-3770K was just under a Corsair H100i V2 to get it up to 4.5 ghz or so but this Ryzen system is kicking that one's butt on air.

I think it's good time to be building PC's.

    Thanks again.
