USB 2.0 Header Limitation

I have a Kraken X62 and a 2 front case USB connections. I would like to have them all connected. I have 2 USB 3.0 connectors using the 3.0 header.

I bought this - 9-Pin USB Internal Header Y Splitter Cable + Molex Powered (5cm) - to split off the single USB 2.0 header on the motherboard.

Unfortunately, there seems to be a limitation of the USB 2.0 header that prevents more than two devices functioning off of it. Is this a hardware limitation or is it a BIOS limitation? I made sure USB 15 & 16 were enabled in the BIOS. It would be nice to get the 2.0 header "opened up" for more devices. There's far too many USB connections at the back - no one uses that many. I wish they had added one more 2.0 header to the motherboard.

USB 2.0 Header Limitation
Y Splitter Cable , may affect the 5 vmA
or extra setup the USB 2.0 add-card

The power draw only comes from the molex connector. The 5 volt wires are not connected to the motherboard.

This splitter is essentially an internal hub, since it is not drawing power from the motherboard header. It's as if the USB header will only enumerate two devices, so a full-blown hub would experience the same problem.

If I disconnect the Kraken from the splitter, the two front USB ports function. If I connect the Kraken, only one of the front USB ports work.

I will need to buy a modded cable with a male header wired to a USB Type A connector and plug it into the back of the computer.

I have the same problem, Could*I solve it with this? *

Using this one:

2 USB plugs for Corsait PSU and pump (H110i), others - for front panel connectors. USB flash works OK, high current devices are attached 2 USB3.

I also think the lack of usb headers on the mobo is ridiculous but I found my solution to be an internally powered splitter/hub

I have the same dilemma with my Corsair case and AIO cooler. Having to choose between the two, I chose the AIO Cooler... The most popular remedy to this issue is to use a NZXT USB 2.0 internal hub, but there is a good bit of additional wiring to enable use of just an additional two ports (which we have a plethora of USB ports onboard). Therefore I made the decision to leave the USB 2.0 chassis ports inactive, leaving use of the USB 3.0 cassis ports only!! I searched for a simple Y-splitter for the USB 2.0 header, but could only find USB 3.0 Y-splitters. Every solution I found was a complicated design requiring additional power from a power supply. I would rather sacrifice a few chassis ports to insure my cooler is getting the proper juice it needs to function properly.

You need a powered hub.
Im using the NZXT

I agree, that this is much better, than mine. However, do not find it. Just always remember, that I should plug high current devices to USB3, not 2. For me two monitoring cables does not causing high USB current indeed.
