ROG should produce m.2 “shrouds”, a plastic sheath basically, that slides over the drive and leaves room on the end for the screw, this would serve and enitrely aesthetic purpose, unless the sheath was metal like a heatsink

To be hinest, for those of us who have massive cases like the pc o9 and the air 540, a tri slot video card like the mars 2 would be epic, that thing was a feat of engineering, and it was a flaming beast to keep cool, but rog did it, why not do it again, with 1070s?, or if anyone else besides me is willing to plug 4 8 pins into a single video card with massive freaking fans that takes up 3 or 4 slots, do it with rx vega 56, if that size heatsink can do the job like it did on the mars 2, or watercoo it like with the ares iii, but massive air coolers would be best, because anyone can put a waterblock on dual gpus, only rog can cool it with monster 120mm fans, although it may be less practical, when have the mars or ares been practical, wexcept for the 760x2? The only purpose someone has for buying mars is to buy a piece of engineering and design that comes with a massive price tag, but is unreplicable

Just putting more and more ever-larger, ever-more-powerful, and ever-more-ornate heatsinks onto things doesn't make them run faster, lol.

Hi,
I think this is a great idea - It would be awesome to get to know the behind the scenes development stuff. However, my idea lies more on the software side of things and should be a simple one...
1st Class Linux Support
Let me explain. I'm probably a bit older than your average gamer - effectively, I am on my "second innings" after being away from the gaming and modding scene for 10 years or so. First time round was during uni and was Counter Strike 1.3 days and I scrimped and saved for slightly better than average hardware. This time round, since it was recently my big 4-0, I treated myself. Ryzen 7, Hero VI and a 1080Ti without even thinking twice. :-)
However, this is not just a gaming rig, like all super-heroes, it leads an amazing double life. In the evenings, its a bare bones Win10 install + Steam (almost literally, that is it). During the day, its a Linux based workhorse. Often running 2 or 3 virtual machines and a demanding software development setup. I'm pleased to say that the Ryzen 7, 32 Gigs of RAM and the Hero VI monsters its way through pretty much anything I throw at it without flinching as easily as it monsters its way through frame rates on PUBG!
But it doesn't do it gracefully. The fans are running fast because there's no proper support for the fan controls and temperature sensors and colleagues have to put up with sub standard audio quality because my Sennheiser Game One might as well be a £5.99 POS for all I get from the onboard ALC1220. And I would be dreaming if I ever thought I might get the kind of GUI tools available for Windows.
But it doesn't have to be this way. Pretty much the entire Linux community are built from the same stuff as RoG - enthusiasm.
All it would take is some way of getting the right harware spec sheets into the hands of the Linux community and the drivers / software will just materialise. (Take this thread for example: https://github.com/groeck/it87/issues/10 - it's just 1 datasheet away from full support).

ROG should make the world’s most powerful AIO liquid cooler, powerful enough to achieve high stable OCs keep Intel x299 CPUs cool even when OCed.
