Unfortunately a lot of legacy USB devices cause problems on the new platforms.

Is there anything that can be done?
I had 5 power dropouts to all USB devices last night, even the ones plugged into the externally powered USB hub. When I check the windows event viewer, there is nothing to report. My USB dac drops out by itself a couple times on top of the 5 full power cuts.

You can try disabling xHCI which sometimes is a valid workaround but you lose all USB 3.0 functionality. Or you can replace the USB device that is causing the problem.

Do you recommend or know of a program that could help me identify the device that could be causing these issues?
The DAC has always dropped out but far far less than currently (previously 1 per 1-2 weeks, now 3-5times/couple hours) and the full on power drops have only been a recent thing with no new devices being added or major changes like BIOS update or windows update.
Appreciate the replies Chino, thanks

Disconnect all USB devices except for keyboard and mouse. Then connect one by one until the problem appears. Then you would have found your culprit.

I had all of the exact same issues, except my Microphones light would stay on but I would not see it in device manager and all my stuff would disconnect when I played games, used adobe creative cloud, and near the end would disconnect immediately when I tried using any device that was plugged in separately, and also when I would try to open folders or files and transfer files across all ports and I had to RMA it and they are sending me one back so hopefully this refurbished board will work better and without any of the problems!

I uninstalled CUE (Corsair Utility Engine) and the power drops to all USB devices have stopped. I have still experienced a couple USB dac disconnects, albeit far less in the same time frame as before.
I too have a Blue Yeti microphone and when the CUE drivers uninstalled, both my Yeti and my DAC disconnected and reinstalled. I will try a couple nights without the Yeti plugged in and report back.
EDIT #1: With CUE still uninstalled, I experienced 2 power cuts to all USB devices again and my DAC still cuts out at random. I have my DAC at my work and it is also disconnecting here. Although, when it disconnects on my work PC, all of the other USB devices retain power and functionality (doesn't make sense to me but ok)
It could be a hardware related issue with the DAC itself but the differing symptoms between PC's seems strange.Last edited by SimondsUnchaind; 05-26-2017 at 05:02 PM.
