Hopefully in the next UEFI we have the option to turn it off.
There is, side effect is that the red light on the power button on the board is disabled as well. And not sure, but I think it disables your HD activity light on your case also.

Stumbled on it when trying to get my RGB working agian. Not at the machine right now, so I am only taking guesses at the option's location, but I believe it was under Advanced -> RoG effects -> RoG LED or something along those lines.

Any peculiarities to report with the Creators Update? Been wondering about that and hearing some mixed reports.

Also, when I said I didn't know anything about the blinking light that was pretty vague but I meant I knew nothing about suppressing it. It does blink but the way I routed the PCI-E power cable to my GPU it passes right in front of it hence I scarcely notice it.

It's really not required so you could just take a permanent marker and black it out. Not being a smart-ass here, I'm serious. I have done that on some pieces of equipment over the years with redundant or unnecessary LED indicators.

I don't want to disable the onboard RBB LED's though, just an option to turn the red power button and HDD activity light off would be nice.
My RGB LED's started working again after a restart.
    Thanks!

my 1st thought when people mention the hdd activity led always lighting up is corsair link and you are correct. that crapware has a constant stream of data logging that can't be turned off, thankfully though once you have your corsair link settings how you want them you can save them to device memory and disable corsair from starting up and your fan curves and all that will be stored directly onto the pumps memory. I spent 2 days screwing around with trying to find out my my harddrive was constantly at 1% usage even when it's been sitting for 30 min. happened by accident that I closed corsair link and it immediately stopped

I just turned off the ROG Effects LED in the Advanced menu of the BIOS and all I lost was that stupid yellow light and the start button light on the mobo. The q-code LED still works which was a concern as I like having that there. I'm going to leave that setting on Disabled I think..

no peculiarities that I have noticed with my machine. Very slight improvements on benchmarking tests, and maybe, MAYBE another 2-3 avg fps in games. All together a positive Win10 experience, which is like finding a unicorn lol

Ugh. Weird side effect: turning off those LED's using the "ROG Effects" somehow disables the USB 3.0 connector! When I went to use my card reader, it wasn't powered and I didn't notice it with the door on this case. I had to re-enable it to get my high speed card reader back. Bummer.

So blinky yellow is back and even though I don't see it, it was cool to make it go away. The ROG Effects doesn't turn off the RGB I don't think -- although how would I know since mine aren't working anyway?...

Agh, that's annoying! I hope they are able to fix that.

I've turned my ROG effects off, and no it doesn't disable RGB. Thanks for the tip!*My build looks much cleaner now.*
