We think that having high fps is The Final Point. 30 is barely playable.

Bios 303 file is posted on Asus site since September 19th.
It can be installed normally, using win flash program, you may find it under Bios utilities menu, on the same Asus drivers page.

    Sorry, missed it. Just installed.
Anything changed with new bios? Still need to disable turbo boost?

I really dunno, I had mb replaced due to repetitive BSoD and inability to install Creators update and GPU driver.
now, it's working well with 302 and frankly I'm fine with that (I successfully installed Creators update and GPU driver) and I'm waiting for others feedback about any improvements.

apparently not. installed 303, restore all defaults in power management, bios all defaults.
    just lunched diablo3 -

To make it lower your temps you should lower maximum processor state to 99%, thus disabling turbo boost and locking fresquencies at nominal values. Than max fan speed will stable reduce temps for 5-7c.
Even 82-86c is "normal": Ts report same temps as you did, i also got such temps (80-85-80-85). Also, asus tech support says that max recommended temp for processor is 85c including. At all, such temps are not smth extraordinary: For example, acer aspire vx15 stays 88-89 while playing doom (however, gtx 1050ti here goes cooler. ~66-67c).
However, in terms of processor lifespan, cycling near higher 80c (especially 90c) even for mobile cpu seems not so good.
I'm monitoring cpu throttling via "sensors only" mode in hwinfo64. It has individual cases in table for such purpose:

    have you tried thermal repasting

    Thermal repasting

HAVE ANYONE TRIED DOING THERMAL REPASTING ; BECAUSE APPLYING SOFTWARES TWEAKS ARE NOT AFFECTING ANYTHING & EVEN AFTER USING THE OPOLAR COOLER THERE IS NOT MUCH EFFECT AND MY TEMPS ARE STILL GETTING AT 88C MAX , HOVERING AROUND AT 82-86C FOR MY CPU AND SAME GOES FOR GPU.
PUBG IS HITTING THIS LAPTOP HARD EVEN RUNNING AT 50-60 FPS AFTER SOME TIME IT STARTS GETTING LOW AT AROUND 45 FPS, STILL GETTING EVEN LOWER IN INTENSE SCENES, & EVEN FOR OTHER HIGH DEMANDING GAMES.
I HAVE EVEN NOTICED FANS GETTING WORKED UP JUST WHILE DOING NORMAL TASKS BECAUSE OF CPU; THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IN GL553 IS BECAUSE OF CPU I GUESS, BECAUSE EVEN WHEN PLAYING GAMES CPU'S IS GETING HOTTER THAN GPU EVEN THOUGH GAMES ARE NOT MUCH CPU DEPENDANT. THIS IS NOT JUST MY CASE BUT I HAVE SEEN THIS THING IN MY FRIEND'S LAPTOP ALSO AND MANY OTHERS RUNNING SAME MODEL...
SO IF ANYONE TRIED DOING THERMAL REPASTING PLS LET ME KNOW HOW WELL IT DOES, BECAUSE OUT OF FACTORY THERMAL PASTING IS NOT GOOD, EVEN FOR OTHER MANUFACTURERS & NOT JUST ASUS ROG.
I HAVE TRIED ALL SOFTWARE TUINING i.e. iNTEL XTU, CHANGING POWER PLANS SETTING & ALL THAT AND CAME TO CONCLUSION THAT IT REALLY DOESN'T MAKE MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE. SO THE ONLY OPTION LEFT OUT IS THERMAL REPASTING HERE!!!!

    1) BECAUSE APPLYING SOFTWARES TWEAKS ARE NOT AFFECTING ANYTHING

If turbo boost disable is considered software tweak, then it fixes alot in mine. In Dark Souls 3.
    Maximum processor state = 99% (i.e. max frequency = 2394 Mhz): GPU temperature = 75°C, CPU temperature = 75-77°C, 80°C maximum.
Maximum processor state = 99% + FanBoost at Max (5200RPM): GPU temperature = 70°C, CPU temperature = 70°C, both stable ( not even hitting 75°C).
FPS mostly the same in Dark souls 3 (except one location).

2)I HAVE EVEN NOTICED FANS GETTING WORKED UP JUST WHILE DOING NORMAL TASKS BECAUSE OF CPU

What exactly do you mean? What fan RPM you got? I got 2000 RPM rarely going to 2600 RPM with Turbo Boost disabled and 2600RPM with shifts to 3200RPM with enabled Turbo Boost. For me noise at 2600 RPM is hardly audible.

    3) THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IN GL553 IS BECAUSE OF CPU I GUESS
Main problem is common heatsinks for GPU and CPU and only one fan (nonetheless, with big radiator). However, this cooling circuit handles CPU alone: I got 55-60°C on computing tasks (PIV & image recognition), with constant TurboBoost, i.e. stable 3,1 Ghz CPU frequency and ~70% CPU usage (fan goes 3200-3600 RPM).

    5) BECAUSE EVEN WHEN PLAYING GAMES CPU'S IS GETING HOTTER THAN GPU EVEN THOUGH GAMES ARE NOT MUCH CPU DEPENDANT

If you check FPS tests, you will that GPU temps is often lower then CPUs'.

    4) SO IF ANYONE TRIED DOING THERMAL REPASTING PLS LET ME KNOW HOW WELL IT DOES

I did not, but I read an article in one technoportal (it's in Russian, so I think it makes no sense to give a link) about repasting GL553VE with Coollaboratory Liquid MetalPad. Author claims that in LinX 0.7.0 he achieved decrease in maximum processor temperature for 4°C (from 88°C to 84°C) and also throttling was reduced: he reports that before repasting average frequency was 2,8 Ghz with drops to 800Mhz and after freqs were 3,0-3,4 Ghz with no drops. However, screenshots he presented (before and after) showed no significant changes in frequencies, but in LinX 0.7.0 window there is increase in "GFlops" tab, from 134 to 150+.
After repasting in Witcher 3 GPU handles 1709 Mhz instead of 1696 Mhz before.
I met information that in long-term period liquid metal pads for notebooks can have negative consequences.

P.S.: Please, do not use Caps Lock in a such way. It did not make your post more clear, and for some users it is as impolite as shouting in your ear.

Hi. I will try to say my story so far with my GL 553 VE. I bought mine august 2017. As i saw it i liked it very much. It was the last one on the store, and it was the demo laptop so i was reluctant at first but i gave it a go. A couple of months i started to monitor the temps. After 5 min on "Hitman 2016" with 99% gpu usage and about 50% cpu usage i was hitting 84 degrees on gpu and 85 on cpu even on 100% fan speed. On Battlefield 1 with 60-70 Gpu usage and 90-100 on cpu usage i was getting the same temps as above, and being that Battlefield 1 is a cpu intensive game i was having problems as the cpu would throttle as far as 1800 mhz. So today i have had it and i wanted to repaste the cpu and gpu. After i cleaned the heatseak (on the back of the vents there was some dust accumulated) i repasted with Arctic MX-4. I did some tests:
Hitman on the same usage, after 15 min i had 71 on the gpu and 78 on cpu..and without any throttle. On BF1 I had the same temps. I also Undervelted the cpu -0.100mhz and i turned fans at 100%. As i write this post the idle temp are 34 gpu , 34 cpu on auto fan speed. On the following week i will do some more testing but at first impression i think it is amazing. Also i forgot i am on the latest drivers of asus and on 306 bios., windows 10 pro updated to this today. Sorry for long post.
