My aging G75vw-bb5k is getting old. I have pretty much gotten to the point where the thing needs to be replaced. It was a great computer besides the sound issues that really sucked. Now I am looking for a great upgrade. Im not in college anymore and have a good job and can spend about 3k to 3.5k on my new laptop. I want the best I can get in this regards for graphics and overall useability as it wil;l be my main computer. Any really good suggestions on to which of the models on this site or another would be greatly appreciated. Long time ROG user

It's a good position to be in. 🙂

With your price range you're going to find most of what's available is affordable for you. High end without going to a 4K 18" screen is going to get you up to around $3500 for a peak performer. I bought my G752VY and my son a G752VT a year ago and never regretted either one of them. I think similar laptops are G753's now and have a slightly better Intel processor. My advice is get no less than 17.3" screen, max out your SSD capacity or modify it if you can, and get the highest end graphics card you can. The rest is ROG stuff and take your pick.

I found that, at least last year, there were very few places I could buy an Asus laptop and have it modified exactly the way I wanted. I wound up buying from Xoticpc.com and it was a good move. They have great service before and after the sale, and the staff is knowledgeable. At least that was my experience, all good.

I'd settle for a MSI GT73VR with a GTX1070. Cheapest config (sithout SSD) is 2,099.00 at Xoticpc. This would be my next laptop, if not, maybe an MSI GT72VR (gtx1070) will do.

I'm waiting to see what the NEW MSI GT75VR is going to offer myself.

If the specs on that are better than the GT73VR, that will be the next laptop that I get.

The Zephrus is looking bada$$ed!
The Keyboard layout and right side track pad will certainly take getting used to and will suck for lefties. Im curious as the the different layout and if it actually does run cooler. Concept sounds good, just no real feedback yet.
