Asus Maximus IX Hero and Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 16GB 3600mhz ram

I have an ASUS Maximus Hero IX and recently bought Corsair Dominator ram off of Amazon ( )

Installed it with the fan, and booted up going directly into bios. My XMP profile showed something just under 3600 mhz so i saved the changes and reloaded. My PC will now not boot at all into bios or anything. I get the code 49 (something to do with ram/memory) for a moment and then it settles on 01... which means the PC is powered on.

Am I looking at compatibility issues here? I guess the ram is for "Intel 100 Series", could the ram just be bad? Also a bit of paranoia here but I didn't like the LED so I left it unplugged and tucked the wires near the motherboard for a clean look... the fan header that comes with the ran has a splitter... can that damage anything left near the MB?

I am currently at work so I can't mess around with the PC.

    CPU i7 7700k
    MB: Asus Maximus Hero IX
    VC: EVGA 1080ti Founders Edition
Ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum Series 16GB DDR4 DRAM 3600MHz C18 Memory Kit
    OS: Windows 10 64 bit.
    PSU: Roswell 1000 watt

Update: It appears the ram is on the qualified vendor list for the board...

    Clear your CMOS.

Since DDR4 3600 isn't plug-n-play for all processors, it might require some manual tweaking to get stable. Particularly you'd want to focus on the SA and VCCIO voltages which helps with memory overclocking. Here are some guidelines for you to follow:

DDR4 frequency range Required CPU VCCIO Voltage range Required CPU System Agent Voltage range
    DDR4-2133 ~ DDR4-2800 1.05V ~ 1.15V 1.05V ~ 1.15V
    DDR4-2800 ~ DDR4-3600 1.10V ~ 1.25V 1.10V ~ 1.30V
    DDR4-3600 ~ DDR4-4266 1.15V ~ 1.30V 1.20V ~ 1.35V
