Also look at driver naming, V8090WHQL_DSD_DTSHPX160HeadphoneXSonicSuite332FF03 _RS2.zip
None of this sound features and sound DPS is work. Except one "surround" thick on the Sonic Suite's control panel... which is not as good as HeadphoneX in terms of sound stage and perspective feelings. It states it supports HPX, but it's not? Did i miss something?

    Hi elmor.
You can't select DTS or DD as the default output format, these formats are not a option with the drivers provided by ASUS. Yes, optical output.

It works with third party cracked drivers on any build of WIndows 10 but then you lose functionality on all the other software, not to mention that these craced drivers are not safe nor legal.

I contacted ASUS Support on this one and they're asking for proof that it was advertised. This seems really corrupt. I have an optical audio out port but it doesn't support surround sound (especially in games), only via analog?

Does anyone have a screencap or some link to where it does say it's supported?

Only way to test this is to install win7 64 bit and then confirm

Doing the sneaky .dll swap thing seems to make it work.

It does not surprise me since the board is 4+ months old and ASUS "support" still can't get a decent driver. For the strix there is nothing saying it will support DTS/DD but then asus was kind enough to add a note by the DTS tab telling users they'd go for ancient version of windows or it will nto work.

You have a DTS tab under your supreme FX panel, that's more than enough proof. Ask their support that's their official statement on the subject .

" Yes, we have an optical port and we do have a DTS tab under the supreme FX... but then we don't support dolby anymore because we are cheap and lazy and we have too many fanboys to back us out on this"

Is there any indication that this concern will be addressed?

I got a reply from ASUS after sending them a screenshot of the DTS stuff being greyed out in the analogue input and this is their reply:

I'm sorry to inform you that ASUS did not advertise this product having DTS Connect support. This isn't specified in any ASUS website or documentation referring to the Crosshair VI Hero. Unfortunately we cannot troubleshoot something the board isn't supposed to work with. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I told them that surround sound is being advertised, but I can't get it without DTS Connect or DD Live, so it's false advertising essentially.

Stupid situation and I don't think they'll do anything. Buggers.

Where can the rest of us find the modded driver? *I'm not sure of the rules here for posting modded software for their products but feel free to PM me the link if it's unclear whether or not it can be posted. *
