Will see, but in heory, yes, for LN2 could be better as example Apex vs Hero in Z270.

I'm sure the Apex will be less than The Extreme. That's the way it is with the Z270 series. I would guess $600 usd for the Extreme and $400 for the Apex.

I think price of Apex will be arround 350-360 and Extreme arround 450-460$.
ASUS ask 500$ for Black Edition I doubt they will ask so much just like that.
Again many people save cost on motherboards and don't want to pay GTX1080Ti for motherboard.
Because market will be full of motherboards 300-350$ with similar function.
Extreme is insane motherboard, this model is nicer than Edition 10.
At least for me. She will be my favorite for X299

KBL X will not work on the R6E though, only SKL X. If you want to use KBL X or SKL X, you need an Apex. Odd.

Rampage VI Extreme does not support Intel® Core™ i7-7740X and i5-7640X processors
I don't care for 4 core CPU, if I need such platform and dual channel I woul wait Coffee Lake and new 6 core mainstream, 4 core is dead for me from 2015.
There is chance maybe to RVIE support most expensive Intels with 18 cores.
Who care for i5 on 2 time more expensive motherboard than CPU and dual channel on mobo with 8 DIMM slots.
X299 worth only because two models with Turbo Boost 3.0 4.5GHz... everything else will be outperform and better option AMD.
Only 1999$ worth Intel will be stronger than 850$ worth Threadripper in multi apps. But I hope 8 core and 10 core because high clock will work great in games.
I just looked ASUS Rampage VI Apex and ASUS GTX1080Ti Poseidon are great complete.
They will really look cool together.
These days I will search little about Poseidon and what customers think.
Visually it's perfect and graphic processor is excellent.
Intel hurry with Skylake and Kaby Lake Xtreme because they prepare something completely new for 2019.
AMD surprised them with new architecture and then they just want to hurry up with X299 when AMD show up with Threadripper.
Because of that Intel hurry with i7 Coffer Lake 6 core 95W Z370 - Maximus 10 Extreme
He will outperform any processor in gaming fps, at least for few fps.
2017 will be most interesting year last 10 years in IT industry.

It seems that the PCI-E 3.0 x4 slot is based on PCH, which is a little disappointing. Because I have a Intel 750 PCI-E HHHL SSD, which I intend to connect with CPU directly.
So my question is:
If I already have 2 Graphics Card inserted (SLI), is it possible to insert the PCI-E SSD in one of the other two PCI-E x16 slots without making the Graphics Cards downgrade to x8?
Thank you very much.
Best Regards

Honestly, I indeed know it is hopeless to run the PCI-E SSD on CPU PCI-E Lane on this MoBo. This question is just a struggling
About my requirement, It is not necessary, but nice to have.
You can consider it just as kind of "religious enthusiasm", maybe.
Let me explain:
It is believed that CPU based PCI-E Lanes would provide low latency and higher speed because they are exclusive for the device. On contrast, all devices on PCH would share DMI to communicate with the core.
Let's consider the bandwidth of DMI 3.0, which is basically the same as the bandwidth of PCI-E 3.0. When there are traffics from multiple devices other than the PCH based PCI-E, the DMI could not assure all bandwidth being reserved for PCI-E on PCH. It indicates that for the devices on PCH based PCI-E, there maybe a higher latency and lower (actual) bandwidth.
Hope somebody could provide some evidence to prove I am wrong

A question along the same line: is the dimm.2 wired directly to the CPU?
