    Enjoy your board fellas..*

    Noob question, 2 x M.2 SSD's & 2 x 1080tis with a 7900x, will both GPUs run @ 16x?*

I was really hoping they would add one of their 80mm ROG fans.
The R6E does not include any extra fans for the VRM or DIMM.2. My three ML120 fans are for use as push-pull radiator fans. I usually use either the ML120 or Noctua industrial fans as rad fans. None of the radiator companies make good fans, despite their advertising.

Would it be better to have both heatsink and fan(s)?

In theory, more cooling is always better than less cooling

In practice... how much cooling do you really need? Are your components overheating/throttling?

That looks like 40 lanes used. 2 for x16 and 2 for x4. I think so, but there may be some specifics for each slot that may be an issue. Using a 44 lane CPU?

yes and it doesn't matter how you connect the M.2 for that, PCH or CPU. PCIEx16 slot 1 and 3, where you put the gpus, don't share with anything as long as you have enough lanes. watch out for pciex4 and slot 4 though, the first goes offline once you connect M.2_1 on dimm.2 per pch and the latter gets 4x pcie instead of 8x once you connect M.2_2 on dimm.2...

Meanwhile, damn you all rest of the world ... Hasn't asus some free house F-16 delivery, where the guy bringing it jumps out of a plane to fly into my window with my personalized motherboard, giving it to me with a bow. Why hasn't somebody invented that^^?

Many of you are already over on overclock.net but for those that are not we have a thread dedicated to R6E owners....

With my case, I am thinking that the heatsinks on their own will do the trick with the M.2s on the DIMM.2 card. I've been testing the EK heatsinks. At idle their between 35-40c. Writing 20gb had it go up to 49c with no throttling.

My M.2 that is on a PCI-e card with an integrated heatsink pretty much sits at 31C idle and 32C under full load, writing the same 20gb.

If these numbers hold the same for the R6E I won't bother with a fan, otherwise I do have a Dominator Platinum Airflow fan that I can put over it.

thanks, great insight. Assume I have headroom for another M.2 right? So 3 in total...
