I tend to find if I'm after something I'll wait for it. If you've been married for 14 years you've clearly been used to the same level of performance and quality long enough to appreciate that waiting*for a better model to come along isn't going to kill you. I often pretend I've already moved onto a new one when I'm using it.

I am still going by my release date speculations that I previously made in several August 13 posts where I also mentioned:
If this was a gambling casino, I would place all my bets on the Apex/Extreme being released somewhere between August 28 (when the 12-core i9-7920X is released) and September 25 (when the 14/16/18C i9s are released).
So I doubt that the R6E/R6A will be released before next Thursday. I think there is a medium chance for both mobos to be released next Thursday or Friday, right before Intel's release of the 12-core i9-7920X. And I think there is a high chance for the mobos to be released between Aug 28 and Sep 8, a medium chance of release between Sep 11 and Sep 25, and a low chance of release after Sep 25. This is all predicated on Intel's previously announced i9 release dates still being true. I imagine most, if not all, of the reviewers and modders would have received their R6E/R6A review samples by next week, with the usual NDA silence.
The initial surge in sales of Skylake-X CPUs has tapered off, and although there will still be the egomaniac gamer who builds a gaming rig with the 18C i9-7980XE just for bragging rights, the higher-core i9 CPUs being released next month are a niche market item. My gaming rig stays with i7-7700K, but I may upgrade to the Coffee Lake 8700K, even if it requires a new mobo. It is very wasteful for gamers to buy an i9-7900X for a gaming rig. I think that Coffee Lake will be Intel's most exciting and most successful CPU launch in many years, far more exciting than Skylake and Kaby Lake. 6-core I7 and i5, 4-core i3s that run as fast as current i5s, 24 PCIe lanes... and we can thank AMD for lighting a fire under Intel's butt. In contrast, Nvidia will delay and keep tweaking their Volta until next year, primarily because the overhyped Vega does not pose a threat to Nvidia's Pascal.
Speaking of AMD and fan dancers, do you think that Asus will sell some more X399 Zenith Extreme mobos in Russia because of this YouTube video??

Me too ! but my options are ending. The money was set aside to change the equipment since June.
After married 15 years (anniversary in September), I travel or repair the bathroom
My wife wants to go back to France and get to know Portugal (we live in Rio de Janeiro - Brazil)
Only ASUS can save me.
