Hmm ... reducing voltages for overclocks, I wonder if that means I can hit 5.0!!

I still haven't been able to download that BIOS.. I've tried like 4 programs on 2 different computers. :/

    dimm2 issues

Got my board in the first batch which was lucky, setup the board with a 7900x, a gigabyte 1080ti in slot 1,an areca 1882 raid in slot 3, 64gb of gskill 4x16 running at 3200 of 3333 and a samsung 960 evo mounted under the shield, things have gone pretty well other than these chips look to get hot. Last week purchased another 1080ti and in conjunction with that redid the setup. New 1080ti in slot 1 moved the areca to slot 4 (preparing for the old 1080ti in slot 3) and moved the m2 to the dimm2 card in position 2_1. That left me stuck as the board wouldn't recognize the m2 and booted and responded very slowly like there was a conflict. Moved the areca back to slot 3 and still no m2 being recognized but the boarrd did respond normally. So then i changed the m2 and mounted it in the 2_2 socket, poof everything was fine and the m2 was recognize. This brought on suspicions so out came the dimm2 card for better inspection and what i found was the 2_1 socket is flawed toward one end and that is apparently the reason the board wouldnt recognize a m2 being mounted there. I need a replacvement for this card either from asus as a warreenty situation or if not too expoensive would go ahead and buy a spare, ADVISE IF ANYONE HAS ANY EXPERIENCE THEMSELVES WITH THIS TYPE OF ISSUE AND THE BOARD, thanks cheistefa76

That really sux. Sadly I don't know if Asus RMA's just the DIMM.2. They should as they have had several boards out with these on them, but I know you can't purchase them separately through Asus. Perhaps you can go on Ebay and find folks that aren't using theirs and want to sell, much like the hold Asus Hyper x4 card that came with the x99 Deluxe Mb.

Does the board come with the same BIOS loaded into each BIOS chip?

I've got no OS installed yet as I wanted to get this issue and the memory issue resolved. Once it's booted into the BIOS the only way is to turn the PSU off since the board is not installed in a case yet. I don't think there's an option in the BIOS for power down. Will the method used to power off the board affect whether the BIOS button works?

I'll try again once I get home from work.

Now wasted the better part of the day with 1709 update. Wont install to a Samsung SSD on DIMM.2 for me to save my life. I tried every combination possible including changing to PCH controller, in place, from USB etc. failed every time. Tried redirecting at the reboot to force the samsung drive too. Only way I got it over was to clone to an 850 evo update then clone it back.

In between I figured Id try the 960s in VROC raid as bootable and posted elsewhere. He much have a magical board because it didnt work for me. There was no option from the BIOS, says unsupported. Did it from software but it only allows pass through which puts you on the PCH controller ( other methods were grayed out) so no dice there either other than getting the same results as you do form the PCH controller. Tried to clone back to that array and it did clone over but couldnt be made bootable.

I followed the instructions posted to the letter even trying a clean install and didn't work so I ditched that effort and deleted the data array and cloned back to a single NVMe drive.
That is still buggy, having to reinstall apps as I come across issues.

I have a clean install ISO ready to go. If that doesn't work I'll install it on an SSD and install my m.2 and such after all is updated. We'll see. I got a week before my final two packages arrive. I bit the bullet and bought my MMRs Monsoon reservoir pump from both Perforamance PC and parts from Amazon. Just wanted it so they both look perfect and identical.

Performance PCs runs at a snails pace. I had to call them out on more than one occasion when I paid the rush charge just go get it processed and shipped in the same day. Well what they do if they cant get it out is print the shipping label then not ship for a day or two. I'm on a first name basis with one of the sales reps there from calling them out on multiple issues. One that really chapped my a$$ was over a high end D5 PWM pump of the $100 variety that was DOA. They put me on with switech who tried to say I must have run it dry with is also BS. Anything to try and get out of a return. Even if you do a return on an unopened item they try to shaft you on restocking fees. Well I dont play that BS. When I spend $2K-$3k per build you better be kissing my feet. I still use them as a last resort but tend to look elsewhere first. Amazon vendors like Titan RIG has a lot of stuff as do several others. Also Frozen CPU is in fact still in business and they ship far faster than PPC.
