Many thanks for the suggestions - have ordered bequiet silent wings 3, but non pwn because apparently there is a scaling problem with Aquaero according to test reports. I already have an Aquaero 5 - so should be ok with that. Hope they work out ok, as I would have preferred PWN control, but due to the scaling problem.......

    Thanks

I bought the R6E due to the sheer number of PWM fan ports available or the Apex would have been a more appealing choice for me. My case is a Corsair Obsidian 900D with 2x480 and 1x240 radiators. Each 480 radiator has its Vardar fans connected to a powered splitter from EK which has the PWM cable connected to the MoBo and then a molex connector to supply additional power. The fans are then controlled by ASUS Fan Xpert to adjust the speed based on the water temperature, for which I have 4 sensors which are also connected to the MoBo. No fan controller necessary. I'm also using both water pump headers for two D5 pumps which are also PWM controlled. The latest Fan Xpert also allows the pump speed to be adjusted too, which is nice although I keep them on 100%. All this connected to the R6E without the need for any additional hardware.

Cool, that's great,But unfortunately for me fan xpert4 is a bit buggy.I want quiet PC,that's why I have two massive rads from HL ,they do their job, fans do their job,fan xpert 4 stopped working properly. So I have installed another Grid, finally some peace and quiet.

    Hello!

Have the same board as you do, the Apex, and the same processor.
This combo gives me nothing but headaches.
Constant BSOD's and freezes. Did a Memtest which in under 5 minutes returned an insane amount of 10000 errors..
The system is not OC'ed. Memory runs at XMP3000, Corsair Vengeance LPX. If I set RAM voltage to auto it passes without errors, but 1,505 V are shown in BIOS.
Normal VDIMM for 3000MHz would be 1,35 V, as specced on the box. What memory do you run and in which configuration? Do you pass Memtest without errors?
    Is your system stable?
    Many thanks!

Hello everyone. I recently joined this community. I have been an owner of Rampage 3 Extreme motherboard since 2010. I have updated my build to R6E, i9 7940x and Intel Optane 900P 480 AIC SSD. I am new to NVMe and UEFI. I would like to use my SSD as Windows/Boot and no other drive is connected to motherboard at this time but thinking of a 1TB Intel 760p for games and stuff. Which settings do you have to change in UEFI to maximize my performance? Thanks in advance.

Just make sure the NVME uses CPU lines and not the ICH. It should be that way by default if you did not change it.

    Hello everyone.

Please i need adviсe with m.2 slot near PCI-E. What a best solution for use this slot with 960Pro ? We need remove "light cover" from MB for better SSD cooling in this slot ?

Can i remove all plastic cover from front side board (chipset cover) but leave back side metal plate and use mb wihout this decorative lighting panel ?
I dont like modern trend with shining MB ))

Maybe you should return the board and go for one of the economy versions. Plenty of X299 boards without the lighting. If your SSD is overheating you should be looking at something other than hacking up the MOBO. Hae you tried using the DIMM.2 ? Is your case getting good ventilation?

Justin, thanks for your answer. But im dont want change my MB ) Overal quality and set of unique features, do not give me chance to change my MB choice.
But hide m.2 socket under decortive plastic cover on top MB - this is sad engineering mistake. For first this is motherboard, and only for 3-4-5 decorative lighting panel )

Im undertsand about DIMM_2, 1 one DIMM_2 slot is busy of other SSD and second slot i dont want use as is im planing use u.2 port. In any case, it's strange that using a m2 slot is associated with a problem caused by an incorrect MB design.
