you can try my preferred way of flushing/ reinstalling display driver.
steps:
1. go here:
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us . download it, keep it in a folder.
2. go here:
https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ . get the latest version of DDU (display driver uninstall), keep it in the same folder where you downloaded your display driver.
3. run the DDU. choose the "restart to safe mode" option. you may have to
disable pause some third party antiviruses as it might interfere with the display driver flushing. i had this problem with Kaspersky's Antivirus for ASUS.
4. continue what the wizard says when in safe mode. then restart.
5. you're back to clean-ish windows. install the Nvidia driver that you downloaded earlier.
