Gaming Tournament
Was wondering if anyone has actually competed in a tournament? If so, what was it like? The ones for LoL and DOTA 2 look INTENSE

Well, there are different levels of tournaments. If it's just you and your friends then you might find a LAN party that hosts casual tournaments for small prizes like game codes and peripherals. CPU magazine maintains a list of LAN parties.
If you are thinking pro am or pro then it's less fun than it sounds IMHO. Pros basically have to practice like it's a job but not many can actually live on gaming income. Many years ago my casual clan tried entering an amateur cash (FPS) tournament and we were beaten back so badly we didn't even get to try any strategies we had planned. Just spawn & die. We enjoyed the rest of the weekend but realized we had more fun playing online against players of similar skill.* Support disease research with Folding@Home *
