I managed to get the seller to send me the purchase confirmation from Newegg - so now I'm good.
However, others have suggested that the solution to the 17 inch laptops is the same for the 15 inch - would doing this modification to the touchpad myself void the warranty?
I've heard that ASUS RMA process is lengthy - also - would they ship me a brand new laptop or would I be getting a refurbed one?
Cheers in advance on this!

OK, one for, one against. 🙂 Well, I guess in general I would advise against just anyone doing the work themselves. I'm comfortable dismantling the whole thing down to a thousand pieces if necessary but not everyone has been tinkering with computers their whole life.

based on the many older posts from G73 owners who tried it and saw no improvement (probably about equal to successful outcomes), and my own experience with two FUBAR G74 touchpads, I'm convinced that some of them are beyond repair.
