From my understanding, the latest Windows 10 (version 1709 (RS3)) already includes the drivers for the LAN card, and ASUS assume that you have this version installed and just provide the pack necessary for the updated, note that the notes on the ASUS site say
Improve system stability & Support Windows 10 latest version.
Also, no offense taken, we are here to discuss and learn.
Also, also, installed the last audio drivers after uninstalling the old driver and all works fine.

fredy, if you just install the uni. driver it will give you only the stock driver nothing else to play around with. if you install the pack from the intel side you get some more 'features' to configure your network device. i attached some pic from the driver package. to make things easy the provided driver from asus is the same as you will get with the windows update without any fancy features at all. it works great and if you dont need certain settings you are fine to use them.

I understand, I got it the first time, the latest driver on asus webpage only updates the universal driver but guys, what I`m trying to say here is that you don`t need that big pack, that is for all the OS`s (Windows, Linux, etc), the ones that I linked (the ~73 MB file) has all of that in it (Intel Lan driver, Intel ProSet and Intel Advanced Connection Services) but only for Windows 10, you don`t need that big file, and depending on what version you have 32 or 64 bit, you only have to download that specific installer for 32 or 64...if you download the previous drivers from asus driver page, when you install them you will have the same options like that one (attached print-screen)
and this is the small one(the ~73 MB file) that I installed and just like @celab posted I have all the Intel "bling" in there...(print-screen no 2)
I really hope you guys understand what I`m trying to say with that Lan driver...
as for the audio driver works ok-ish but for me still not like the last one, my case, after installing it, the fallowing 2 or 3 days after, at some point I would get a prompt to restart my PC to finish the installation, and then stopped, it probably finished installing it after a few days XD , this after doing as they said uninstall the old one, clean the system, reinstall the new one...but this behaviour may be, or rather probably is due to windows 10 v1803Last edited by Fredy M; 08-02-2018 at 12:15 PM.

Finally got the system assembled and running. Still on original BIOS. Few problems.
1.) PCH is at 49 C when system is idling. Anyone else have this issue or is this a normal temperature? I don't like it. Comparing my Z170-A the PCH is 42 C when gaming.
2.) Fan Xpert 4 does not recognize one of my chassis fans. Faulty or could this be a BIOS issue, as well?I'd like to deploy my troops in her country.

Now I'm on 4011. Had enough of the lockups and crashes. Seems to be stable, otherwise.
This is the sequence of events. Got the system running (original BIOS). Started installing software, Ai Suite III was first so I can calibrate fans, all fans ran through fan tuning, but the fan connected to the chassis fan 1 header ramped up to max RPM and stayed there whilst the other two worked as intended. Suddenly Fan Xpert 4 won't allow me to access it, anymore (Access violation at address 00000000). Chassis fan 1 was showing 0 RPM. Uninstalled it Ai Suite. Due to numerous crashes and lockups I installed latest BIOS, reinstalled Ai Suite but the chassis 1 fan was not recognized. Reconnected other fans to the same fan header with the same result. Either the header, Ai Suite or BIOS is the issue. Was wondering if anyone ran into this before. Managing fan speed through BIOS, currently. All fans function properly.
The PCH temps I noticed on Ai Suite, as well. I installed HWinfo 64 to check temps on everything to be sure and same thing, high 40's when idling and bumped into the low 50's when browsing. Not impressed with this board.
And speaking of temps, when in BIOS the CPU is at 47C, otherwise HWinfo indicates 33 when idling. What's the deal there?Last edited by panzlock; 08-07-2018 at 11:56 PM.

The lockups you had were most likely not the bios but having multiple monitoring software installed like AI suite / HWinfo /fan control software and even the lighting control, its a known issue with all ryzen boards that it will crash with multiple monitors, I learned pretty early on that AI suite is useless and removed it. As for the temp you really should not be monitoring the PCH at all as that in its self will cause instability but as for my system i get about 44c on the PCH while browsing but then i have a butt load of case fans and decent air flow, in any case for that chip 40 - 50 is perfectly normal and actually pretty low compared to other Ryzen boards, the chip is designed to run safely into the 100s so what you are getting is perfectly safe and not a concern.

After BIOS update there are no more lockups no matter which monitoring software I use. Again, after 4011 everything seems to be running fine. Aside from the chassis 1 fan not being detected by Ai, which I removed, anyway, on account of Fan Xpert not functioning at all.
I wasn't too concerned about temperatures but I had an expectation. As for the CPU, HWinfo shows idling between 30-33C and this is with the Wraith Spire. I just wanted to identify the disparity between HW and the BIOS temp indications.
I haven't checked yet but is there a way to link chassis fans to the PCH or the MB through the BIOS qfan control? I'd prefer chassis fans ramping up to a more consistent temperature rather than a spiking CPU.Last edited by panzlock; 08-08-2018 at 02:40 PM.

Hi folks,
Any indication on whether we'll be seeing a new BIOS for this board? It's been four months since the last one which is quite long considering how fast Asus was cranking them out initially.
