More Audio Observations
Been playing with some things, not that I have really fixed the issue. Probably has do do with how the devices are initialized when combined with an Nvidia GPU. I'm on Win 10 Pro 1809, Nvidia 417.71. Bios 4207 (4011 did it too), chipset 18.50.16.01.
To get it out of the way, the Nahimic service seems to murder the Image Editing benchmark scores in Realbench. Like a loss of 90-100,000 pts because it is taking nearly twice as long. Part of this seems to be because it is loading extra cores and dropping the boost from 3.7 single core to the lower all core boost.
There is a thread in the Maximus Z370/390 board section that has users with pretty much the same issue as I have. "Maximus X Audio Popping". To recap, what I get is crackles on a single channel that depends on if you are booting or resuming, and although not as big a deal the channels are not quite balanced. The crackle / static type noise is easy to reproduce in the same points of the same songs, or simply hitting the windows volume to get the "Windows Background.wav" tone. This occurs with headphones plugged into the rear audio out (green) port.
Before I described how I could get the crackles to disappear on the Realtek drivers by playing the speaker test at the bottom of Playback Devices > Speakers tab in Realtek Audio Control app. It would nearly all the time crash the app, but the speakers would be cleared until I rebooted. With sleep and resume, the sound stayed clear if I had done that. There was a new Windows update KB4490481 that is supposed to fix "an issue that occurs on machines that have multiple audio devices. Applications that provide advanced options for internal or external audio output devices may stop working unexpectedly." I applied the update today and reinstalled Realtek drivers (actually 6.0.1.8668) from another thread and after rebooting, I cleared crackles using the test button and that app did not crash.
Yesterday and today I was testing the generic Microsoft High Definition Audio driver. Crackles would appear on cold boot from shutdown, or if resuming from sleep. If I rebooted, they were gone. I could not figure out a way to get them to disappear in Windows with the generic driver (other than reboot). The other thread had a workaround of disabling then re-enabling the Nvidia display adapter in Device Manager, but that did not work for me. Reboot seemed to always fix it, and it would be fine for that session (until sleep, or shutdown).
The front panel headphone jack seems to work when I try it, even if the rear is crackling. Not sure what that means. But I didn't think to try and boot it with them plugged into the front panel, so I might try that later. Didn't get around to it, but might try booting/rebooting without the PCIe card. Since it is a 1600, can't really try it without the GPU though.
Anyway, one user on the other thread said that he went to the insider Windows 19h3 to fix his audio problems, and it seems to work a lot better than 1809. Maybe I need to hold out for that. I have like a week and a half left to return it, so that is an option.Last edited by hazium233; 04-04-2019 at 02:46 AM.

so just for everyone to know this experience
it's been a week since i had a chance that cost me nothing to change my b350-f to msi b350 pro carbon and i have to say that i love this msi board,
i had b350 strix for a year and i tried so hard like examining every bios with ryzen memory calculator and i was never able to reach the 3200mhz with my geil evo x ram(3066 was my stable point) it always failed memtest and showed blue screens and crashes at some point but with this board and simply with enabling xmp i've been on 3200mhz for a week and had not a single problem.
also my processor 2600x runs much cooler on this board because i think asus gave too much voltage for no reason(my idle temp went from 39 to 34 and my stress temp went from 73 to 68 )
so in conclusion i'm pretty happy with this msi b350 pro carbon and regret my decision on not choosing it at the first place.

I case anyone was wondering about it; the B350-F is definitely on the list of supported boards for Ryzen 3000.

Instability since BIOS 4602 & 4801
Since 4602 (and now 4801) the PC randomly stops responding and goes into a blank screen and remains there unitl you hit the reset button. Before (with BIOS 4207) everything was rock stable. I have the latest AMD chipset drivers installed (from AMD's site). Anybody with similar behaviour?
