I honestly do not think ASUS are interested anymore as they have moved onto the new 400 series boards.

Not sure I agree with that. I once got a new BIOS from Asus for an AM3 board something like 5 years after it first shipped. Considering how similar many of these boards are under the skin, surely it can't be that much extra effort to update the BIOS? Plus, I assume B350 boards will have sold in fairly big numbers along with midrange Ryzen chips.

i was talking to asus support a few days ago and at the end i asked them if we are getting a new bios for this board anytime soon. the support guy just asked ' what do you need it for?'

While I have not spoken to ASUS it is pretty much what I was thinking and the state of the last audio driver and the lan driver that does not work and the fact that its been months since the last bios is evidence that they are not bothered with the 350 anymore, and rather than being in an update monthly to make things better its now moved to a holding pattern of update only when we really need to, and with a bios if to them it works stability then they are happy and a bios is not effected by the OS, so as much as it bugs me I do not think we will see another bios update unless there is a major exploit found or new Ryzen 2 cpus are released.

Your post helped a lot. Am I correct to say the latest audio drivers on the asus site are still recommended?

I`m sorry but I`m finding it hard to believe that this Intel I211-AT v22.3 LAN driver is the same as the one on asus website (the 2.9 Mb one)...the size alone is different, then there is the fact that the one from intel is for the i211-at chip found in the b350 strix and many other boards from asus and it is not an universal driver whereas the one on the asus web, although can be a typo, says it in the zip name i219, which is not the right chip ... the audio driver unfortunately is a bit of a problem because asus did a number on that an it`s somewhat proprietary, it uses the ALC1220 chip from realtek but with some tweaks (S1220A) so the driver from realtek won`t work

so, kids, if you want the latest driver for your sh*t, go to the manufacturters (OEM`s) website and download it from there, may not be always the stable one but unless it`s some custom stuff made for asus, msi, gigabyte etc. that will be the latest, and sometimes the best...

as for the audio driver works ok-ish but for me still not like the last one, my case, after installing it, the fallowing 2 or 3 days after, at some point I would get a prompt to restart my PC to finish the installation, and then stopped, it probably finished installing it after a few days XD , this after doing as they said uninstall the old one, clean the system, reinstall the new one...but this behaviour may be, or rather probably is due to windows 10 v1803

i agree, they couldnt care less. i think the next and last update we will get is when zen2 comes out to suport the latest gen cpus onto the b350 chipset. that can take another year or so. well time will tell ^^

The lockups you had were most likely not the bios but having multiple monitoring software installed like AI suite / HWinfo /fan control software and even the lighting control, its a known issue with all ryzen boards that it will crash with multiple monitors, I learned pretty early on that AI suite is useless and removed it.

You were right. Lockups were not BIOS related. I updated all the drivers to the most recent versions but the lockups persisted depending on degree of usage. Couldn't even transfer data from a USB flash drive without it going into a seizure. Same result when unzipping files. Windows (build 10240) was the culprit. Updating to 1803 seems to have alleviated the problem.

As for my other issue, it was a faulty fan, not the board.

Hi folks,

Any indication on whether we'll be seeing a new BIOS for this board? It's been four months since the last one which is quite long considering how fast Asus was cranking them out initially.

I'm guessing there won't be an update until the 2300X & 2500X launch, thing is this board is still on AGESA 1.0.0.2a and most other manufacturers are moving to 1.0.0.4.

It's a bit crap that support has died down after just one year.
