Actually he's not a d-bag at all, and that's quite immature answer imo. People have been modding bioses since forever. What he did was only enable acces to options that are disabled by default by asus for whatever reasons, things that can help out in overclocking, things that are usefull. If ppl used those modded bioses and didn't understand how to properly work with them, that is on them.
Also the thing is Pstates were enabled in bios 0806. Still there in 0809. If pstates are buggy, be it due to Asus coding bug or AMD Agesa bug, that does not make a modder a bad guy. It's up to manufacturer to pull out the bios from download or warn users of potential problems. The way I see it is Asus realized there's a bug and pulled out Pstates in 0811. I bet it had nothing to do with modding. Also I bet they will be back in a later version of this boards bios.
Edit. Also yeah where is this G-state every one is on about.
To ammend my initial statement he is not a d-bag for creating modded bios imo nor is he supposed to teach you how to recover if you mess up the update. There is a warning also that says update at your own risk.
Whether he wants to brick his board on purpose that is his business and not gonna pass judgement on it.Last edited by mariuscc; 09-20-2017 at 07:00 AM.

I think what they try to mean with G-State is the "Global C-state Control" option. Not sure though.
What I really want to see with a BIOS update is to ability to disable Spread Spectrum.

Been said already. I agree that providing a mod which "unlocks" options is in itself a "good" thing. I agree that it's irresponsible of the modder to not provide would-be users of his mod with proper warnings and recovery procedures, etc, but such negligence/oversight isn't an excuse to insult and condemn.
But if (like me) you go back to the modder's thread and read it top to bottom then you'll see that the way he uses this mod (to "unlock" and circumvent mobo manufacturer safeguards, then burn his hardware far beyond rated parameters, then automatically demand RMA hardware replacements) is rather unethical and exploitive. He basically wrecks mobos by tampering with them, burning them up, and pushing them past their maximum operating thresholds with the intent of getting the manufacturer/vendor to pay for him discovering the upper limits. It's just like assuming the manufacturer is responsible for replacing parts you broke through (blatantly out of warranty) volt-mods and LN2 corrosion. "I don't like my new hardware - it's a lousy silicon-lottery ticket, an overclocking lemon - I'll burn it out so the store has to take it back."Last edited by Korth; 09-20-2017 at 11:51 AM.

lol an attempt to nip the bud, keep topic on topic instead of having digressions digress further away.
