Claymore Shortcut Features Guide

This is a simple guide to help users understand and configure certain shortcut features on the ROG Claymore keyboard.

Please note, some of the Claymore’s keyboard shortcuts require installation of other compatible ASUS products and software.


Fan control (Fan- and Fan+ keys)

Software requirements: AI Suite 3 and ROG Armoury.

Supported products: All ASUS and ROG motherboards with Intel 100 series chipset or later are supported. For AMD support, only Crosshair VI Hero and ROG Zenith Extreme (X399) are confirmed to be supported.

Both AI Suite 3 and ROG Armory need to be running in the background. This feature utilizes the shortcut function from Fan Xpert, allowing users to control fans that are connected to a compatible ASUS motherboard. There are 4 modes in Fan Xpert: Silent, Standard, Turbo, and Full Speed.

Fan- (-)
Pressing the Fn + Fan- (“-” key) will switch to the previous profile in Fan Xpert (Ex. If the current profile is ‘Full speed’ mode then it will change it to the previous profile, which is ‘Turbo’ mode).

Fan+ (=)
Pressing the Fn + Fan+ (“=” key) will switch to the next profile in Fan Xpert (Ex. If the current profile is ‘Silent’ mode, then the next profile will be ‘Standard’ mode).

KeyBot port features (CPU OC, RAM OC keys, Boot Up, and BIOS)

Hardware requirements: compatible ROG motherboard with a KeyBot USB port (the Claymore must be connected to this USB port to work).

Software requirements: please make sure that the motherboard is running the latest BIOS version to ensure that this feature works properly.

Other requirements: the system must be in S5 sleep state (soft off).

The KeyBot features are dependent on the KeyBot USB port and the system must be in S5 (soft off) mode in order for these features to work. A long key press is required to enable the functions in S5 mode.

Supported products: ROG Maximus VIII series or later motherboards feature a KeyBot port.

CPU OC (F11)
Pressing the F11 key (long key press) in S5 mode will power the system on and enable a preset OC profile in BIOS.

RAM OC (F12)
Pressing the F12 key (long key press) in S5 mode will power the system on and enableXMP profile for Intel motherboards and DOCP for supported AMD motherbaords.

Boot Up (Enter)
Pressing the Enter key (long key press) in S5 mode will power (wake) the system on.

BIOS (Del)
Pressing the Del key (long key press) will power the system on and automatically enter the motherboard BIOS.

CLR CMOS (C+L+R)
Pressing the C + L + R keys (long key press) simultaneously in S5 mode will clear the motherboard CMOS, and revert to default BIOS settings.


Other normal shortcut features

Lock (Windows)
Pressing the Fn + Windows key disables/locks the Windows key.

Macro (R-Alt)
Pressing Fn + R-Alt enables on-the-fly macro recording.
1. The keyboard will flash and indicate that recording has started.
2. Begin recording the macro.
3. Press Fn + R-Alt once to end the recording process, then press the key you wish to assign the macro to.

*To delete the assigned macro follow these steps:
Step one: Press Fn + R-Alt
Step two: Press the key you want to remove the macro from

Step three: Fn + R-Alt
Step four: Press the key you want to remove the macro from.

Example: if you had set a macro key to the q key and want to remove it, press Fn + R-Alt -> press q once -> Fn + R-Alt -> press q again

Light + (Up Arrow)
Pressing the Fn + Up Arrow key increases the LED brightness level of the keyboard.

Light - (Down Arrow)
Pressing the Fn + Down Arrow key decreases the LED brightness level of the keyboard.

Switch Lighting Modes (Left Arrow and Right Arrow)
Pressing the Fn + Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys allows you to switch between different LED effect modes for the current profile. Each profile can store up to 10 light effects. .

Custom Profiles (1 to 5 number keys)
Pressing the Fn + 1 to 5 number keys (Numpad numerical keys will not work) allows you to switch between custom profiles 1 to 5 in the ROG Armoury software.

ROG SYNC (PrtSc)
Pressing the Fn + PrtSc key allows the Claymore to sync LEDs with compatible ROG AURA Sync mice . This feature only works with the ROG Claymore and a compatible ROG AURA Sync mouse, and will not work with motherboards, graphics cards, or other products. Pressing Fn + PrtSc again stops the LED sync feature.

Repeat Acceleration (F1-F4)
Pressing Fn + F1-F4 keys l changes the auto-repeat rate to the desired value (x1-x8). Example: if the repeat rate is changed to x8, then key inputs are repeated at eight times the normal rate.

Reset Custom Profiles
Holding down the Fn + Esc keys for 10 seconds will reset all custom profiles.
