    M2 passive cooler

EK has their new passive cooler for M.2 SSD:

    https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-m-2-nvme-heatsink-black

I have tried to install this on my R5E10, but the screw for the SSD needs to be longer. The other concern is that the side of the passive cooler contacts one of the capacitors near the M.2 slot. Could this cause a short?? Thanks.

Don't have it installed. I don't have an M2 screw long enough to anchor it. Just wanted to see if anyone else tried. Temps seem ok without it. Just wanted to lower temps a bit more.

If the screw is not long enough either the heatsink is hitting something not allowing it to seat fully or you may need to re position the heatsinks a little further towards the socket as it fits fine on my Z-270 Hero with standard screw, although it is very difficult to install the screw
This picture shows the copper area around the screw, although I had to re position the heatsink a little to center it

Thanks. I did get it installed with a longer screw. I think the heatsink is hitting the standoff making the length about 3mm longer. It is a tight fit on this R5E10. Computer booted into windows fine. Not much room to work with since it looks like the heatsink moved slightly towards the contact points for the PCB would prohibit it fitting into the slot correctly.

I'm thinking if it boots into windows, it's fine.

BTW Menthol-Did you remove the Samsung sticker off the SSD? I left mine on, but seems like defeating the purpose.

I was able to get mine seated properly on my Strix Z270F, but it was very close. I tried it several times before I put the clips on to get it as close to the connector as possible without interfering. Even then it was so close to the post that it rubbed slightly on the post and the original screw went in easily.
