Yeah u can easily use it, just dont foregt to update BIOS (I think there was no full support for NVMe protocol SSDs in initial version). For thermopat u will want a 1mm thick one, to place between the sandwich of your SSD and metal plate on top. The tricky part is to get the exact same screw to fix the SSD on motherboard. For my G752VY there were no additinonal screws of that kind in the notebook package nor the screw came with Samsung 950 Pro SSD I bought later. So u got to take that into account also. GL HV!

So what is the spec on the screw that is needed? how do we order this?

I dunno really. My notebook came with some simple Samsung 128G SSD on that M.2 slot that I changed for better Samsung 950 Pro SSD almost right after the purchase so I havent any troubles finding the exact same screw to hold the card in place. I was suprised that there were no additional screws in the ASUS notebook package, nor they came with the Samsung SSD package. I mean both are relativly expensive products so yeah, I expect that a customer dont need to solve such small issues on their own.

Best I can tell its a 2.0 x 3mm (CM2x3-3.3). New egg will sell you 2 for 3.99, EBay has a dozen for the same price free shipping

Thanks for the exhaustive answer 🙂 and someone tested g752 with ssd m2 2 times 500gb because apparently it has a limit of 500 gb for 2 slots

I don't believe that to be true that M.2 slots are limited to 500 GB, Samsung 960 Pro has up to 2TB M.2 NVME SSD each slot could use one if you could afford them.

Yeah, I dont think there should be any limitations for the SSDs space in these slots. Well, except maybe the one about BIOS, MBRs and 2.2 TB limit for a single storage capacitance. But thats not a problem right now.

Your notebook is not MBR it UEFI GPT there is no 2.2 TB limit, that was only for booting OS anyway BIOS MBR went away back in 2012 or maybe before G75VW for sure was windows 7 UEFI.
