z270g with realtek audio driver - reads sennheiser g4me one as speakers

hi all,

just got new sennheiser headset and i have the mic and headphone plugged into the front of the case and its still showing as speaker. how do i get it to actually show the sennheiser headphones?

current driver is realtek 'Realtek_Audio_Driver_Win7-81-10_V6017960'

Ok so the things I've done so far are:
Uninstall the above mentioned driver and run stock windows. Displays headphone but does not recognise that it is a sennheiser game one;
Install different realtek drivers. Same result. Recognised as speaker.
