    For me it is:

    Changing a setting in bios -> saving it -> System doesn't start.

    But sometimes it manages to start once until i try a restart from windows. Depends on what order i save the settings in bios and how often i do or do not restart between saving different settings. Sometimes i can boot once, if i change the settings that don't need that complete restart thing (like when you change to manual oc mode it does that little "start - off again - start again" thing after saving) seperately, and do the restart ones before. But then after reboot it doesn't boot anymore until i clear cmos. No matter what i try to do.
    Same settings that wor perfectly fine with the older bios.


    EDIT: It is funny how clear cmos seems to destroy everything for you but restore everything for me
    I don't get how you do that clear cmos -> load optimized defaults thing you always explain.
    Cause cmos is only cleared if you reboot the thing which would give you a 00 in your case???

    Same behavior since upgraded to bios 3504, i have a Maximus VIII Extreme.

    Clear CMOS always boot for me, but from unplugged I get the OO issue: I clear CMOS by pressing the button, then switch off the PSU and wait until all lights are off. Then I switch on the PSU and start the computer. This gives an OO.

    If I enter the UEFI menu, "Load optimized defaults" is available from the Exit menu, above Save and Exit. Then if I save it says no changes have been done. However, after unplugging and power on, it starts directly without OOing. This means that loading the optimized defaults does something that "clear CMOS" does not.

    I hope this clarifies the sequence of events.

    Some more info: I compared the CMO binary files that save the 3401 BIOS settings, in 3 states:
    1. after Clear CMOS Button
    2. after Clear CMOS button followed by Load Optimised Defaults (no reboot)
    3. after Clear CMOS button followed by Load Optimized Defaults and save and exit and reboot

    I noticed that there are differences between the CMO files, despite the fact saving settings says no settings have changed.
    Between 1 and 2 there is only one difference at offset 13AA (00 in 1 and FF in 2)
    Between 1 and 3 there are many more differences at various offsets (0505, 05E8, 6E01 to 073F, 0943, around 1200, 1400).

    I can imagine that UEFI bios are constantly writing things at each reboot, but that shows that there are differences between these states.

    I have Tested only with RAM and CPU and I have the same Problem. The next Thing I found is a Problem to load a Profile from USB-Stick or stored in the UEFI. Then I select the File and answer the Question to Import with yes, so the UEFI Freeses and nothing happens. I can only push the resetbutten. I have seen this Problem in older Versions and in the current Version. I hope the off/on Problem and other Problems will be resolve in a future Version. Have ASUS a new Beta-Version to test?
