Firstly, after almost 7 years, decided to go head in on a full blown new build to replace my

Core-I7-950

and this new AMD has been a complete f!@#ing disaster, a disappointment and money not well spent. So from the start, originally had order a Corsair H115I AIO Cooler for the CPU and G.Skill TridentZ RGB Memory, the memory would not post under any configuration, and i do mean any, from single slot tries in every slot to different dimms placed in various MB spec orders. So sent the TridentZ back (ruined my RGB theme) for G.Skill HyperX memory which was suppose to be compatible with Ryzen chips. well yeh, got it to post after reversing how the slot was configured, but not to the MB Specifications.

Before I get into the wealth of issues with the HyperX memory, when the system post, the tempature was insane on the CPU 63-71C, did everything trying to see if maybe the CPU install was bad, nope everything looks proper, than thought maybe the H115I was bad, so sent that back for a refund, and went with an EKWB Water Cooling solution. Hrm...Nope, system still booting with 63C~ Okay, so run through the OS install process, thinking maybe the cpu-monitor is just wonky etc, install steam with some games, launch 3dmark, BAM! system shutdowns with the LED on the MB stating CPU Temp etc. Okay

Booted back in, downloaded the latest bios 0503, oh hey the CPU temp dropped to something reasonable 32C~-43C, but notice the s#$! sparaticuly jumps around in all types of temparture ranges...weird, but more stable before, attempt to set the memory to correct timing from auto etc, 14-14-14-34-3200Mhz DOCP, boot back into OS, seems okay, input devices are wonky. crank into my favorite game (Dota 2), within 5m, my system shutdowns, repeat this everytime.

Now mind you, this buld is in the $6500~ range, and I am beyond mad and pissed off with this. Right now, every indication of problems point to this motherboard. I am in complete utter disgust, that paying $549 for an ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme has been my bane for this entire project. right now I have a $6500~ unusable piece of crap because my tempartures are wonky and memory is just not function properly.

Is this just a one off extreme issue with power capacitors or is this even more wide spread?

Important to know, temperatures are often displayed 27 degrees celcius higher than real temperature, but I think that offset was removed in UEFI 0503 (but back again in 0601).

First of all, return EVERYTHING to stock speeds, CPU and RAM. (Clear CMOS)

What method did you use when applying thermal paste on CPU? (or did you use the pre-applied by vendor?)

I'm using a Corsair H100i V2 that works just fine and not even close to overheating (no OC on my CPU, only RAM).

I'd recommend running CPUID Hardware Monitor Pro, and configure it to save readings to CSV in set intervals so you can identify which temperature is too high, if that is the case.

I have the same ram issues - before 9960 I couldn't boot with DOCP settings
(even with setting T2 *I don't think the board is saving settings correctly everytime i restart into uefi some settings are different or reset to default)
now with the latest I can boot into windows fine open and close programs fine but when I try to run a game or render something instant crash

For the correct temp check out ryzen-master

*since you have a loop you can stick one of these in your fill port it will stop the fans for going crazy for when your cpu randomly spikes unfortunately I don't think you can't change the temp source for the cpu header :mad:

If games and such are crashing, something with your RAM-settings are off.

Use Memtest to stress test the memory after changing settings: http://hcidesign.com/memtest/download.html (I purchased the Pro version for $5 so I didn't have to to do everything manually such as starting ~20 copies of it, as I have 64GB RAM and each instance could assign 2.8GB).

Other option is Google Stress App Test, in Bash for Windows 10.

Installed Ryzen Master, and it just confirms my suspicion of temperature fluctuation, every second it's changig from 42c~52c; obviously this is pretty unacceptable for a watercooled solution. on top of that, installing those rgb firmware updates, doesn't seem to have did much of nothing. If i can't even play my favorite game (Dota 2) on a $6500 rig, it's worth diddily squat. has there been any official statement from ASUS on these issues?

I'd say that either your cooler is broken/crap or you did something wrong when you mounted it and applied thermal paste between pump block and CPU.
Is the pump working at all?

In the third pic in the OP, the hose to the rad is pretty kinked.

It's not the waterblock thermal pasting issue, as the original corsair h115i that as on here had the same temperture issue. that screenshot isn't a constant, it's just a random spike, as I've stated earlier it ranges between 45C-6x~ depending on whats going on. Fortunately there's some angler G1/4 coming to fix those kinks to ensure proper waterflow. If an BIOS update stablized the system tempertures to some degree, its not some residue issue.

Also EKWB is the only one offering a TR waterblock, and I highly doubt EKWB is crap. My two cents

I have that block and at 100% @3.8 I don't go above 45 (current bios says I'm staying under 70)

My temps are completely fine with a Noctua NH-U14S. Haven't seen any random spikes, idles around 34-35C and gets up to 65 C with all cores loaded to 3.7 GHz in a Prime95 run. So makes no sense your temps would be much higher than mine. If your voltages look ok, I don't know if I would think it''s the board, i'd lean towards defective cooler or installation issue.
