Bad memory?

Just got my R6E today. No OC on the 7900X. Memory is corsair CMD32GX4M4b3600C16. I think it's Samsung b-die. No OS installed yet. Just getting used to bios. The bios locked up after changing to XMP profile for the memory. So memory was the only thing OC'd. It worked fine for about an hour.*

Cleared CMOS and flashed 0802 bios. Everything now at default. Noticed bios reporting only 24G memory. Went to SPD information which was reported correctly for only 3 modules. Fourth module installed in b1 did not have the manufacturer name, the module size, or the maximum bandwidth whereas all others were reported correctly for all these fields. I then swapped b1 for d1 modules and made sure there was no dust and firmly installed. Now d1 has the same reporting errors and b1 is correct. I suspect I have a faulty memory module.

Agree? Any other troubleshooting needed? Thanks.*

I wish there was a program to test memory outside an OS.*

Please keep us informed. I have G.Skill 32GB (4x 8GB) F4-3600C16Q-32GTZR DDR4 3600Mhz Trident Z RGB which I guess is identical! Am waiting for MB (R6E).

It is on the QVL memory list!

I think someone said using that in windows is actually more accurate for detection of errors.
