What programs do you guys use for stability testing these days?

I used to use prime95, but that likes to melt my 7820x, and throws errors/crashes while neither memtest86 or Aida64 stability test show any errors.

Is prime95 stability a thing of the past, or do people still run prime95?

You can use Prime95 very well still, but remember that new ones support the newest AVX instructions so it might be a good idea to disable the AVX instruction support in the config file before stressing (or use older version Prime95 26.6). Remember there is an AVX offset setting in the UEFI to scale down the clocks when use of AVX instructions is detected.

Thanks for the replies, RoG RealBench worked great for stressing the AVX instruction set. It crashed while Aida64 did not, and I think I have all my settings stable now.

I have yet to notice any of my stress tests accessing the AVX-512 instructions...

Is there a program that specifically stresses the AVX-512 instruction set, so I can verify the "AVX-512 Negative Offset" is good?

Do you know which test uses the AVX-512?

I tried using the default torture test-blend, but I don't see a difference in temps between -6 and -9 AVX-512 offset

My temps are insane with version 29.3 of Prime95... With Aida64 and RealBench my max core temps are 80-85C. With the first test of Prime95 my temps are ~75, then with test 2 they hit 90-92C, and with the third test starting around the 4 minute mark, they hit 97-101C!

I didn't see any errors, but it only ran 4 minutes before I stopped it in fear of melting my CPU

Use a mix of rog realbench, hci memtest, Google stressapp. You can throw in aida 64 to hit the cache hard if you wish. Be systematic so that you know which voltages need tuning at each step.
