o.k well I looked at the TDP for the i7-7700k, it comes in at 91w which is a jump from the cpu you have now i7-6700 which is 65w, not sure if any one can backup and say yes or no if it will work, my guess is that it will work but your gonna have alot more heat, the cpu coolier is not the best and your gonna have to keep a eye on the temps, otherwise upgrade to water cooling which is alot of work.

as for the gpu, either get what you have picked "Turbo" or the founders edition, ideal to push all that heat out of your case and not around the case, as the heat will only rise and give you higher cpu temps. yes people have installed the gtx 1080ti but your need a bigger second power brick or use a external power supplie. but again this is some work to get to work together.

also the ram won't work, the max I would go to on either of the cpu's above would 2133mhz, here are the links to both cpus and there said the speeds on them

any more questions just ask 🙂

Whoopee

thanks for the reply, might as well just keep the cpu as is if might cause issues, ill deffo upgrade the graphics card, i have found an evga founders 8gb reference card for a good price. also what ram would you go for ?

appreciate the reply, thanks

how about these sodimm modules ?? if these are ok ill add these and a 256gb m.2 sata instead of the cpu, with the 1080 founders should be pretty decent hopefully 🙂

let me know thanks Whoopee !

ok gone for these

recommended by crucial and lifetime warranty 😄

and a Samsung 960 EVO M.2-2280 250GB instead of changing cpu, everywhere it seems the i7-6700 is ample

just hope its ok for a while once sorted

if you want to upgrade to the latest 2101 Bios you have yo upgrade to 1601 BIOS and then to 2101 bios

Hello cavalier666,

I was wondering, did the motherboard run the I7 7700K? I read that some users tried to run it with a the 2101 BIOS version, but was unable to boot. Did you?

Edit: I barely read all the post and just saw that you didn't take the CPU. My mistake!
