The slowest speed for aura is still so fast for me
Very personal idea but i will be very happy and continue using Asus products if you guys can add more level of speed for controlling the speed of aura
For me the slowest speed is still so fast,
Please add some more level for slower gradient transition speed
Thank you and hope you all good

I need a title?
Hello, I’m new to the forums and would like to make a few suggestions to improve the Aura software.
My system, which I built back in March of 2018, currently consists of the following:
Asus ROG Rampage VI Extreme
Intel Core i7-7820x
NZXT Kraken x72
4 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4
Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 ti
512GB Samsung 960 Pro M.2
Asus ROG Strix XG32VQ (My monitor which is Aura Sync compatible)
I am also hoping to upgrade my current system at some point with more Aura Sync compatible products.
I do not currently have Aura Sync installed as the factory-default effect of my mobo & monitor are more appealing to me than the effects Aura Sync currently provides. The effects Aura Sync has are often buggy and lack almost any control so I can’t ever get the lighting to look the way I want. Take, for instance, the “Rainbow” effect; In many recent versions of Aura Sync, while using the effect across multiple devices, the effect is often slow and stuttery and seems to require the use of a lot of processing power. My motherboard has a default rainbow effect, that I actually really like, which follows this pattern (if you were to look at just one LED):
Red -> Orange -> Yellow -> Green -> Blue -> Violet -> Magenta -> Red -> Orange -> …
Just like my peripherals. However, the gradient rainbow effect available on Aura Sync follows the pattern:
Red -> Orange -> Yellow -> Green -> Blue -> Violet -> Magenta -> ...
But then seems to almost mirror itself because the next part of the effect is more like:
… -> Magenta -> Violet -> Blue -> Green -> Yellow -> Orange -> Red -> Red -> Orange -> …
So the effect no longer looks attractive with my peripherals and there's not an option available for me to change that.
I also don't like how every device is only able to follow the lighting effect after another device has already been through that effect. Even though the devices are technically synced, they’re not synced in a way which ends up looking decent. So lighting effects traveling across the DIMM, on my board at least, travel away from the CPU socket from first on the left and then the right. There’s no options currently in Aura Sync to direct lighting flow. However, I was able to fix this with Corsair iCUE and could turn off the lighting on my graphics card with Asus GPU Tweak II, because that didn't sync well either.
I’ve made many attempts to try and use the software, downloading various versions and subsequently deleting them for hours on end to see if certain issues are not present. Eventually, I end up removing the software entirely and decide to use the built-in effects and at some point in the future I inevitably try my luck with the software again and the process repeats itself.
The biggest flaw with Aura Sync, in my opinion, is just that, the syncing. The software doesn’t allow you to individually control different LEDs, even though this is entirely possible and is even accomplished by other programs. It’s either everything follows a certain lighting effect or all lighting is off. And desyncing a part by breaking the little chain icon just turns those LEDs off, you can't actually program the effect on that device by desyncing it. The only reason I can think of why this was done was to avoid issues when using both addressable and non-addressable LEDs, but I believe this could have been done much better.
If Aura Sync was redesigned from the ground up, you could address all these issues in a way which gives the user a greater degree of control over the LEDs. What I have in mind is similar to Razer Synapse, and it could sorta revolve around the motherboard. Here’s my motherboard:
Now if you were to draw this board in very-low detail it might look something like this:
We can then create lighting zones based on the board’s actual lighting zones (I’m not sure if it actually looks like this but I think it’s a pretty good guess):
And since my board has addressable LEDs we can also create a point for every LED in each lighting zone:
In essence, you’d be able to individually control each diode if you designed the interface to act like this and if you had a non-addressable strip/zone than you’d at least be able to control that zone. As for syncing it may work something like this:
Here, we’ve inserted non-addressable RAM modules. They may have many diodes but all of them must be the same color due to the nature of the strip, however, in this scenario you could still make it compatible with addressable LEDs. You’ll also notice that the path of the effect is not limited to one way, the effect could branch so syncing would be able to be accomplished with a lot more control. The different devices would also not be required to be synced, you’d have the ability to choose an effect for each individual diode or lighting zone. You would still have a bunch of built-in effects that come with the software and the implementation of a separate tab that would allow you to create and customize your own effect would also be beneficial. That’s really all I got, I’d also suggest that all the software for Asus products be combined into one program so users don’t have to download so many.

Yep. I have the Z30F gaming, and it has an addressable light bar on the left side. I have two GSkills RGB RAM, and an RGB fan that I affixed to the CPU cooler. Right now whatever I do, the sequence would be the Left Side Bar --> Right RAM --> Left RAM --> CPU Cooler. And it kinda irks me that I can't move them around.
Also there are some effect that Aura really lacks like rainbow light trails that one colour fills up an addressable RGB strip, and then followed by another colour. And yet those effects are some of most basics effect you would see on cheap China/Taiwan made RGB products and looks cool.

please fix the gradient changing speed
I am super satisfied seeing the gradient changing pattern of the wave effect (on shutdown) on my x470-f gaming motherboard, and hoping if somehow i can get the same color changing pattern (on sync all) can somehow be applied to (rainbow mode, color cycle mode)
Please make it possible, i believe that asus is still the best

My major issue is that I can not control the addressable leds individually. What is the point of addressable LEDs if the are seen as a single stripe? For example my Phanteks Halos have 30 LEDs each but I can't control them individually?
Am I missing something here?
***EDIT***
Ok I see it now - I can only control the LEDs individually in the "Comet" effect. However, I would like to be able to control them in Static mode (or other) as well but especially static should be an option. For example the motherboard leds are split into areas, my G.Skill ram the same - I can control the LEDs on my RAM individually in static mode. The HALOs however do not work as addressable strips in Static mode? Why is that?
I am also waiting for 4X Phanteks Adressable strips (and one controller) that would like to control individually from the rest but with the same colors. Will this be supported any time soon?Last edited by Abaidor; 01-23-2019 at 08:31 PM.

I want more effects and layers and saving and iCue...
If you have a look at my build, you'll notice my reviews on 2 aura products: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/b/Qv7WGX
The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that the effects weren't up to scratch with my Corsair iCue enabled devices. Please make them have at least SOME of the effects that iCue has! My favourites are Pong and Rain, But also can there at least be effects that can be saved to a library so that you don't have to reconfigure them every time? Layers of effects can be helpful, too- you know what? Just copy iCue. If ASUS AURA can get half the features that iCue has then I'll be forever happy. I'll even support the development, I'll do the betas, just please for the love of RGB, get some effects that are worth the software!
(I only use the static profiles at this time).
