    Question USB2.0 solutions for RVE?

hi all, i have old hardware/ peripherals which need USB2.0, and don't want to use HUBS and create chain of hardware. what are my options as an RVE owner, to get USB2.0 connections on the board / or from the board directly? (i have 8x USB3.0 ports, and really only need half) what are my options to get more USB 2.0?

    thank you all.

I feel your pain. The only option is using the hub though. Internal USB 2.0 hubs do not create chain. It's only split the port into more than one input. The other possible solution is to use USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 adapter (Can't find one that suit my quality standard).

Just order NZXT internal USB 2.0 hub. You'll like it.

Many users have reported that the NZXT hub works perfectly with their motherboards. So that's a good pick.

@ariefp - any idea how many internal i can use? and what i can gain?
i tried now some PCI-E USB2.0 internal cards (Startech and Syba) all with problems, didn't really work smoothly, some devices got connected but lost connection, disconnect/ connect.

*** i remember in the motherboard's manual, there was something about USB2.0? correct? or is that USB1112 same as the front panel? or can both USB1314 and USB1112 be both made USB2.0?

i do think i have no figured out how to use the NZXT internal https://www.nzxt.com/products/internal-usb-hub

NZXT HUB works by HUB-ing existing USB 2.0 internal port. While PCI-E USB2.0 internal cards "creating" a new internal (and external) port. It's completely different.

thank you @ariefp, much appreciate the clarification!

another problem i have, or maybe known issue, just wondering if you guys know a work around or any other approach.

    - when i leave USB3.0 devices plugged into the back of the motherboard (I/O ports), the system does not boot, or if it does boot it does not load into windows. BUT WHEN I UNPLUG the USB cables (except keyboard + mouse) all loads normally and windows boots up.

any idea what that could be or why that is happening? THANK YOU!

What kind of device you plugged in? Was it a flash drive or hard drive.

If it was a flash drive or a hard drive, my best guess is that it contains a boot partition. Maybe you used it for windows installation before and didn't completely format it before using it for other purpose. So, what happened was, your BIOS tried to look for an OS installation within the drive and stuck.

Possible solution, backup your drive and format it using windows. Let's see if it works.

    Question

hi @ariefp. they are just simple GAMING CONTROLLERS (for Simulators/ SimRacing hardware/ gear, like Thrustmaster, Logitech, Fanatec stuff)

when Windows 10 Pro 64bit - is booted without any of the below connected, and start connected 1 by 1 each of them shows up correctly as GAMING CONTROLLERS and work flawlessly in the games (iRacing, Assetto Corsa, rFactor2, Automobilista and RaceRoomRacing Experience)

the above are the DEVICES, USB2.0 and USB3.0, even if only connected ONE device, does not boot up passed windows logo or before that BIOS startup.
once i disconnect them all (except for keyboard + mouse) then system starts normal. I have tried even various USB ports, here and there, randomly, did the same with keyboard + mouse. but as soon as one of the gaming devices is connected, the system refused to boot.

additionally took the time to test these things on two systems, both with Asus RVE boards, just one board with BIOS v3701 and the other board with BIOS v2101. both have the identical symptoms and behave the same way....why is that?!!!?? can't make this out and figure this out.

    * also tried just connecting this device: http://www.thrustmaster.com/en_US/pr...8a-add-shifter --> same problem on both systems, do not boot passed Windows logo
** then tried this device only: https://www.fanatec.com/us-en/shifte...ter-sq-us.html --> same problem on both system, do not boot passed Windows logo

as soon as I unplug/ disconnect (except keyboard + mouse), systems both boot normal and quickly into Windows.

    ??? don't understand this...???
