How to tell if I got 1709?

I used media creation tool to download Windows 10 and create a bootable USB drive. How do I know if what I have on the stick is 1709 (FCU)? There was no statement or indication which version I downloaded.

If you got the tool from Microsoft, you will be installing the latest version. You have to actually go into their archives to get .iso files of older versions.

This was the official response from MS during the FCU AMA.

"This is a known issue. The fix for this will be included in the cumulative update that will be released today at 10am via http://catalog.update.microsoft.com (manually downloaded). It will also be included in the next Patch Tuesday cumulative update. (Ref OS #14207031, 11D)"

No, but from what I understand it will appear here as a Cumulative Update for Build 1703.

I'll keep an eye out for it, I have build 1709 but I did check all the updates on that page and found nothing that specified a fix for this.

I have searched all over and found no fix out from Microsoft. I hope this is not Microsoft pulling our legs on this. If anyone finds the fix I would appreciate having it posted here.

Hang on, that doesn't make sense. If you have Build 1709, that means you already have the Fall Creator's Update. The issue in this thread is in regards to people on build 1703. the first creators update, who are unable to update to 1709.

I don't think they are pulling a fast one, they acknowledged it and I don't see a reason for them lying.

@Superbowl - the guy was pretty clear that it will be part of the next cumulative update, which would be posted today on the windows update catalog (which I linked to) and released to everyone on the next patch tuesday. The link I posted is just a shortcut to performing a search on the windows update catalog site with the keywords "windows 10 cumulative update"

The results are shown in chronological order, so the one dated today is already there, but its for 1709, we are waiting to see one posted for 1703.

WEll I was able to update fine it was after the update that this started happening with Nvidia drivers suddenly installing when I didn't want them.
I think I reset the policies and hidden that driver for now. At least it notifies me if I want to update so for now... fixed.
