Slow Performance Samsung 960 NVMe in X299-XE Gaming

Samung 960 Pro performance on motherboard ASUS ROG Strix X299-XE is very slow. Speeds are less than 2.500 MB/s. I check this in four differents computers with diferents X299-XE motherboards and differents 960 Pro all with the same slow performance.

In motherboards, like ASUS Rampage VI Extreme or ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe, speeds are about 2.700 MB/s.

In other motherboards, like ASUS Z270 or X99 speeds are about 3.200 MB/s. and more.

Make sure you are using the latest UEFI build. Some improvement to NVME performance were included in later builds.

Are your motherboards running the 0802 BIOS? If not, download it and put it on an empty FAT32 pendrive and update the BIOS using the EZ Flash Utility in the BIOS.

    Hey Chino,
I just ran a bench today after a windows update. I went from 3232 read down to 2800 , so it might be something microsoft did. I updated the firmware from samsung too.

Interesting. Try uninstalling the update and see if performance returns back to normal.

Also can you indicate which update is the culprit?

Wow Intel is just messing with anyone using a non-Intel NVMe now aren't they?

There are sometimes downsides to using the Insiders builds, as is stated when opting in.
