So we are supposed to run this in conjunction with the Intel ME drivers that went up a couple of days ago?
You must install the driver with the software shell

I have see, that all Maximus VIII Mainboards become this Update, but only the Extreme and the Extreme/Assambly-Edition haven't get this update. Then try to use the Update from the other Maximus VIII Mainboards, I become an errormassage, that the Mainboard [Maximus VIII Extreme] is not compatibel. Have ASUS Forget this Mainboard?

Run the program and uncheck both "Sensors-only" and "Summary-only" and hit [Run]

BTW, the title of this post is wrong. There is no BIOS update, but ME module within it.
    Some interesting stuff.

using the ASUS ME UPDATE TOOL does it update the OS INTEL ME version or the one in the Bios INTEL ME FW?

if the latter we should also update the one in OS also to match?

aslo could you use the ASUS ME UPDATE TOOL to downgrade the INTEL ME FW in the bios?

Since it's under the BIOS section, it should be for the BIOS.

Also, on my Hero Alpha driver support page, under the BIOS ME it states, *We suggest you update ME Driver to the latest Version 11.7.0.1040 simultaneously.

So that means you also download the other ME, which if you're not sure it could be the Windows or BIOS, but if you go to the Chipset section, there's the 11.7.0.1040.

Mine was previously at 1032, and after using the one under the chipset, it now states in Device manager it's 1040.

So the one under BIOS is for BIOS, the one under chipset is for the ME driver that you'd see in device manager. At least this is from my understanding and following what Asus suggested.
