A new update for the ME Drivers. and a bios ME DRIVER????

Hi there people,

One little question here: The new ME firmware update pushes version 11.8.50.3399 into our system. Since Intel's last oficial released FW version is 11.8.50.3425, Would it be ok for me to manually update to this last version? is there any incompatibility? I'm familiar to manual update, so that won't be an issue. It's just that I'm wondering the reason to get this specific version against the last one.

not suppose to be. i have some issues with the new ME driver. since the tool does not work with me alone. aside of the issues. I have no idea what these fix.

For those of you still getting "can't open asio.sys (2) error. I finally got the FW to update, here's what I did:

1.) Unpack the MEUpdateTool .rar file to a formatted USB flash drive.
2.) Temporarily disable your AV.
3.) Once unpacked to flash drive, right click on the MEUpdateTool.exe file and run as an Admin.

Work like a charm. I will recomend also drop any oc. I quit all the programs. I follow you direccion and presto !!! is install. Until now I have no idea what that do. but is on.





After checking some numbers, i can say, preliminary, i have drop of memory temp, motherboard in general, not much. The gputweak still doing his UTC but i can go with that.

This article at Tom's Hardware describes the need for this update I reckon. Vulnerabilities in Intel's ME firmware for 6, 7 & 8 series CPU's. The ME firmware update closes these.

And it links to a tool on Intel's website to see if your PC is still vulnerable. If your PC is still vulnerable, then it's safe to say the ME update didn't go through.

Why do you recommend using a USB flash drive rather than unpacking the file to a hard drive?

When I do this, I get a Warning!!! saying to Please check MEI driver is installed. I don't see that in the drivers download section.
