Strix z370 f-gaimng 4030 Ram Compatibility
Just bought the corsair ddr4 4000 CMK8GX4M2B4000C19
On my strix z370 f-gaming/ bios 4030 the xmp profile is unstable. running at 4000 or also lower like 3800 suddenly i got a bosd and windows memoey diagnostics found some issue. This never happen with my old corsair 3000mhz
CAn Asus finally give us a decent bios with mor compatibility? Paid over 250 euros for a no-compatible mb? wtf?Last edited by mikex999; 11-25-2017 at 03:07 AM.

1) Set VVCIO and VCCSA to 1.2v - 1.25v
2) That kit is not on QVL so hasn't been validated for that board. It's good to check the qualified vendor lists before purchasing high binned kits.

Hello
Unless one is well versed in memory tuning it is best to aim for a couple of bins down from the max memory overclock listed. This is especially true if expecting plug n' play. 3733/3800 speeds are probably a more realistic expectation.

Why indeed. 4000Mhz is indeed possible, but not on all CPU or modules without additional tuning. As Praz has already said, if looking for plug and play it's always best to opt for speeds a notch or two below the maximum rated frequency. Some users will have the nous to dial those speeds in on 4 DIMM boards, others won't. There are no guarantees
