Issues with GT-AC5300. Checking Connection in map. And other issues

    Hi,

    I just bought a GT-AC5300.
Being a Gamer.. I had a choice this router or the RT-AC86U, (Suggested by RMerlin).

But ignored him unfortunately as I thought this router would be better suited. Boy wasn't I wrong!

More annoyed that this Router does not have Full Cone NAT.. Being a Gaming Router.. I would like the option of OPEN NAT on all my PCs and Consoles.. (Should be Standard Since it is a Gaming Router)!

I have issues since I bought it a few days ago, with WiFi dropping out, lag and Oddities in the GUI and the Map,
The Map is showing Checking Connection... Constantly.
GUI Bug I suspect, as it has on the dash board and on map the wan ip, and I can gain Internet access.

GUI issue with the bottom Left Corner.. till you actually zoom in on a browser it will be white washed.

I sue with the Asus Router App. When you test your connection in the app it does a Red X on my modem.
But it has done this with other Asus Routers, (RT-AC68U-RT-AC3200).

The WiFi drops. Is I suspect a firmware issue.

Now with the WTFast, it says Canada or USA. Why doesn't it have a UK option?

I had issues with it when I clicked on Reboot in the Router itself, on the GUI Reboot. I forced it to Reboot as I had issues and thought it would sort it out and it wouldn't turn back on so I had to unplug the router from the wall.

Also Getting in the system log: The ERR of the Paid App to do with QOS.

So, I want to know if there is a newer better firmware coming?
I have sent a lot of feedback to Asus with no reply.

    Current firmware: 3.0.0.4.382.15984

Bought from Amazon UK, for £388 and am annoyed at it,
    Substandard and Not-Fit-For-Purpose!!

This Router is a Joke to all Gamers, this Router should not have the word Gamer or ROG Logo on it.

(P.S. GT-AC5300 Is not Protected Against KRACK)
(We will not see a update till Broadcom Pulls there finger out and patch it,
To address the KRACK issue, so ASUS won't be pulling a update out till this is fixed..)

I had similar issue and after I updated the firmware I never had an issue again. I guess its personal preference but with 6 iOS devices, an Apple TV 4k, and my system all pulling from the same connection...I never see network lag. Someone from ASUS really needs to get this taken care of for you. And we all know getting support from ASUS in these forums is impossible. Best of luck brother.

I game daily and stream daily, and imo this router has blown away my previous ASUS 3200 router.

    Yes, check firmware.
Just retired this router after running it since its inception day and only did so because I needed a 10GB SFP+ connection to my 10GBe switch.
Never had any issues and not a single drop out.

Mote logs but from the replacement GT-AC5300..
Seems to have more errors than the first one I got.
    Very disappointed!

    Of course..

But no email back to say if it is anything to worry about.
No communication is worrying as I paid nearly £400 for this garbage.

Two GT-AC5300 and both have faults.. sent the old one back and got this one and it has faults..

I don't understand why can't you give us a firmware that you have made so far.
