*posible fix for Asus z370 audio crackling*

Hello I have Asus z370 x hero with latest drivers .
I was plagued with the front panel audio crackling and distorting. My rear panel audio didn't do it.

I read on readit last night some dude said from a readit pc master race forum a guy posted to disable Windows 10 fast start up option under Windows power plan.
I disabled it and it worked 🙂

He said to disable it turn pc off unplug power supply for 1min or so restart pc. I and now I'm happy today my front panel audio doesn't crackle with front panel any more.

I'm not taking credit as I found this out from pc master race readit page .

This is just a workaround that prevents hibernation. It's not a fix. If the system does come out of hibernation, you can disable and then re-enable the Nvidia display driver in device manager as a workaround, too.

Never mind it returned after 2 hrs.

Audio balance between left and right is bad .


Left balance is 20% louder then right and Audio crackling is bad again..... I thought Asus was king but the audio is terrible on this board .
Would a future bios or audio driver fix this or this going to be ignored by Asus?

The balance issue is known and will be patched in a future driver. The workaround to that is to move the balance slider in the driver software -3 to -4 dB to defeat the offset.

The crackling issue also occurs on the MS default driver. We suspect there is some interaction between the NVidia driver and the OS that causes it to occur. Seems that the NV driver is getting priority over interrupts, which causes the audio to drop out. The interesting facet is that the issue only occurs after the system has resumed from hibernation or sleep. It will likely take some time to talk to involved parties and find out who is to blame for this. In the meantime, the workaround is to disable and re-enable the NV display driver in device manager.
