ASUS where is the firmware update for my $450 router?

It's pretty obvious that ASUS does not care about it's customers. This is a blatant disregard for our security. The last firmware update for my ROG Rapture GT was AUGUST....this is user hostile.

The KRACK vulnerability and numerous other bugs that this $450 router has have not been addressed. I'm quite upset now that I purchased what I THOUGHT was the best router I could buy and the most secure out there. Synology, Netgear, Belkin, etc. have all patched this vulnerability. There is no excuse other than the fact that ASUS doesn't give a **** about it's customers.

There is a update that is due..

But not till the Q1 of 2018..
It is due to Broadcom fixing the Krack issue..
Which ASUS does not have any controller over,
Unsure why, should be simple enough.

There is also a update firmware that was given to me by a forum member.. unsure of it myself.

GT-AC5300_9.0.0.4_382_18724 was given to a forum member recently!.

(Trying to get confirmation from RMerlin to see if it is legitimate as ASUS seem to not want to bring this out to the wild. If it is legitimate.

It is appalling to me that we have to get modded firmware for our equipment. For a router to go several months without an official update is just insane. Never again will I buy an ASUS router....
