Lol 😄
Just bought 5 meters for doing the same on a different scale. Just need to check the amp of the strip before plugin it in.

1 RGB LED takes up to 60mA, Asus mobo headers allow up to 3A so its ~50 LED's per header. For more RGBs you will need a splitter that powers them directly from PSU like this:
for WS2812b RGBs https://i.imgur.com/9qhbp0M.png
for 12V 5050 RGBs https://i.imgur.com/9b5z2HM.png
Assuming lowest density (30 LED/meter) its still 150 LEDs on the length of 5 meters, i suggest splitting them into at least 2.5m strips for 12V and 1m for 5V as there will be large voltage drop on the strip itself. Then you can connect them in parallel using standard RGB strip splitter (for WS2812b its something like this https://i.imgur.com/AAoMMsi.png , for 12V 5050 you can buy pre made splitters).
Also, for WS2812b, Asus Aura controller has a "bugged" limit of 128 addressable LEDs (with Aura software limitation of 60 LEDs but this can be bypassed with a trick), so if you go for more than 120, you must split them and connect in parallel.

Thanks. I am aware of that set up (5 meters will kill my header 😉 )
Nonetheless i thought 5v rgb headers would allow up to 2 amps. Are you sure of 3 amps?
