Single SATA Drive (Samsung 850 EVO SSD) not recognized

Hi
Have a frustrating issue with a Samsung 850 EVO SSD not being recognized on my ROg Zenith Extreme mobo.
Running BIOS 801.

Does it matter which SATA port I use?

How can I troubleshoot if it doesn't even mount or show up under Device manager?

can the Samsung 850 EVO SSD be broken?
Did you try with another sata cable?

My (dumb) mistake
In preparing for NVMe M.2 RAID support I had switched SATA support to RAID in BIOS

However, this is EXACTLY what AMD recommends. Maybe I am not understanding correctly...
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/NVMe-RAID-Support-for-the-AMD-Ryzen-Threadripper-plat...

After updating to a supporting BIOS, the disk configuration must be changed to RAID (from SATA or AHCI
)

Take on Both :cool:

Decided to avoid RAID for now. NvME speeds are fast enough and I doubt any application is able to take advantage of extra speed enabled by NvME RAID 0 !
