That's the point. Asus doesn't communicate with their customers. I paid a premium for what's supposed to be a reputable and well-supported product ......yet it's been crickets chirping on this for the last two months. Honestly, my cheap Gigabyte Z170 WIFI board that I switched from had far better support than this.

Case in point: Here's a link Asus posted ~2.5 months ago on 1/5/2018:
    https://www.asus.com/News/V5urzYAT6myCC1o2

Says "ROG STRIX Z270I GAMING" BIOS version "1001". Good luck finding that since the last BIOS update was 10/20/2017 version "0814".

Talk about terrible misleading communication. For the last two and a half months they have posted a BIOS version with a fix that doesn't even exist yet. I'm done with Asus after this hardware iteration.

I understand. I just wanted to point that out because sometimes people seem to believe that ASUS is hiding or remaining silent on these forums. I agree more communication in general would be good.

    Great news, everybody!
Guess who just released updated BIOSs for all their Z170, Z270 and Z370 boards?

    That's right: GIGABYTE!

(ok, that's not great news for any of us... but at least I know what I'll be buying next time!)

Intel to fix Meltdown and Spectre in new chips; releasing code for older processors
    Source: https://www.neowin.net/news/intel-to...der-processors

" Another thing that Intel announced today is that it's releasing microcode for more of its processors. The firm first released new microcode for the 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-gen CPUs last month, and now it says that microcode is available for 100% of all processors released within the last five years. In fact, the code available goes all the way back to Sandy Bridge, and Intel still plans to go back further."

ASUS better release BIOS update for my Z97 Maximus VII Hero board or else I will pull my giant middle finger onto their face for real.

I am tired of them being silence.

Sent an email to support to ask about this on my Maximus VI Formula MB. Only canned response so far, Other Manufactures are updaing Haswell Z87 Chipset BIOS's, one would hope ASUS will also update ROG and other product line MB's.

If they don't, I wouldn't be surprised if those of us in the US could take Asus to small claims court for diminished value.

Back in 2012 a woman in Southern California took Honda to small claims over their inflated mileage estimates and won almost $10K. You never know unless you try and small claims doesn't require a lawyer. You might be able to get a couple of hundred out of them considering the price of these boards.

Well, small glimmer of hope, it is from a customer support rep but:
Here is the information you requested:

I just want to let you know our software engineer is currently developing new BIOS update.

Please bear with us and kindly check the website from time to time for the update.

Thank you for your time and patience.
