Modify old BIOS to boot from NVMe drives?
That is really interesting! How did you modify the BIOS to accept a PCIe-M.2 adapter card with an NVMe drive? I have an old ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 with X79 chipset, and wondered if I can get it to boot with an NVMe drive installed in one of those PCIe-M.2 adapter cards. The current BIOS was written long before NVMe drives even existed.

2 days later and nothing works. The beta copy just gives a error !!!
The only thing I could do is revert back to saved point and lock out Update. I hope Asus can come up with a answer that works.
MAYBE BEFORE ALL OF US GET HACKED THRU THE INTEL MELTDOWN ..
ARE YOU LISTENING ASUS

Agreed the Beta is utterly useless on my Z97 Sabertooth MK1 one fan tells me I need a ASUS Fan Extension Card?? WTF?? Regardless I can't tie any fans to any sensors so defeats the whole purpose...Not too mention the whole programs hangs after you make any adjustments(the ones that don't do anything...)
Right now all I can do is turn my fans(all of them)all the way up or all the way down...USELESS!!!Last edited by INSTG8R; 01-08-2018 at 12:35 AM.

Wrong - ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 has an X59 chipset and you don't have UEFI BIOS.
I can't mod the BIOS for you, but you can boot from M.2 drive: check this tutorial
This is off-topic...
Anyone who needs a modified BIOS (with NVMe 1.2 support) please visit my Facebook profile and send me a PM with your motherboard model.
It took me (one guy) only 3 hours to prepare modified BIOS with M.2 NVMe v1.2 support for all ASUS motherboards - SHAME ON YOU ASUS !!!
I did not have time to put everything on my website, because I'm very busy building mining rigs :PLast edited by Marcinprv; 01-08-2018 at 01:17 AM.

Sorry, that's right. The P6T Deluxe has an X58 chipset. I know it uses legacy BIOS with MBR partitioned HD, running Win 7 right now. Still you say it can boot from an M.2 drive? Would that be the B-key or M-key? My understanding is that B-key m.2 use a SATA interface, but M-key use the PCIe interface. Correct me if I am wrong please.

I looked at the tutorial about DUET: it looks like some kind of virtual UEFI boot within a legacy boot. It is pretty a complex but amazing procedure. My old P6T/X58 is for a Linux learning lab, but I might just chicken out and buy a new mobo
But again, DUET looks very interesting.

Same problem with a B250-PLUS
I use AI Suite 3 to control 2 fans and GPU Tweak so my STRIX can control 2 other fans. Right now although I can't open AI Suite 3, the 2 fans controlled by my CPU temperature are ok, but the 2 fans controlled by my GPU aren't (they don't turn on).
