Bios update broke xmp, kind of (new bios for meltdow/spectre)

I have a maximus hero IX, installed the bios released today to combat the security flaws and it broke XMP.
If you enable XMP and tell it to do the CPU improvements also windows wont load. Blue screen saying you need to repair it. You have to enable XMP and select no on the CPU improvements for the system to work.

Just a heads up, i think we will see a new version of the bios very soon.

Is the CPU improvement overclocking your CPU? If so, the overclock might not be stable which is understandable.
