It's soldered to the motherboard, so unless you're a wiz with the soldering iron as well as laptop disassembly and assembly, it's not the best laptop DIY job.
Do you get a 1) corrupt, or 2) blank display on bootup?
If 1, have you confirmed booting into the BIOS by pressing F2 on startup or an external monitor or LCD TV connected to the laptop via HDMI or VGA port does not also display the same video problem?
If 2, have you tried reseating the HDD and memory?
