I think the best solution is to wait for a 2k hdr monitor instead of 4k.
Playing at 100-130 fps on my 1080ti with a 2k resolution for 1 year; i am not able to return to 60fps at 4k, even future GPU’s as their performance increase, AAA future games will also increase in graphics complexity, we are still in the same FPS range.
And SLI is not good anymore, micro stutter and few games support it.

Is this also on PG27UQ? Glow bleed halo effect.
This what a 2000$ monitor will offers?*

Search "PG27UQ Fan" on youtube and you'll see plenty of examples. I opted to buy the C27HG70 by samsung. It's basically just as good, if not better (with a better contrast ratio) during SDR. 4K resolution is of course better, but at 27inch, there differen is practically negligible. It has HDR with 8 dimming zones and 600 nits, obviously pale in comparison to the PG27UQ, but you're only paying a fourth of the price. No GSync either, but you dont need GSync if you have a 1080ti on 1440p. In other words, the PG27UQ is literaly only better for HDR, something that isn't even common yet on PC. By the time it is common, we'll have miniLED panels, or even microLED.

You mounted the VESA bracket backwards, that's why the fan was louder. The bracket is designed to give a spacer/gap to let the fan breath. You may want to edit the video.

I believe if you turn on local dimming in SDR mode on PG27UQ, its contrast ratio can get to around 6000:1, which is double of C27HG70.

I did not have a VESA bracket.

This might be true, but it is unrealistic. Remember, it's not like OLED where you create a contrast between pixels in a single spot. The 6000:1 ratio would be comparing a pixel on totally different parts of the screen due to the zones covering such a huge amount of pixels. Like the C27HG70 has 8 dimming zones and can achieve 20000:1 contrast ratio in HDR, but it's pretty bull**** cause it would be only between a pixel on the left side of the screen compared to the right. tl;dr, local dimming only helps if the contrast is between different regions on the monitor. This would improve alot more with miniLED and microLED, which is why I'm perfectly fine with waiting a bit more while I use my curved CHG70 (I like the curve lol).

What? C27HG70 can go up to 20000:1 contrast ratio in HDR? Can you link me to a review that says this?

    http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/samsung_c32hg70.htm

They tested for the 32 inch, but it's the same tech.

Edit: More or less it has the criteria for HDR600, not HDR1000, because it reaches max of 620 nits, however because it is VA, is has really dark blacks. But it's not realistic because it needs more zones. 384 is still not enough, I would say 1k should be the bare minimum. However, we won't get true HDR till microLED and we leave the 8BIT+FRC realm.

Honestly, after I started looking into the CHG70, I became less impressed for the PG27UQ. It's only expensive cause of the stupid gsync module.

VA VA VA for the win.
Never again AHVA (IPS), black is yellow in the corner, black is gray no black in the entire screen, Glow, Bleed.
Any monitor I will buy it in the future should be only with VA technology if OLED or MicroLed not available.
