Is there any reason that there is no HDR1000 certification on Acer x27 like Asus?

Try it in dynamic material like movies and games...

ALL MOVIES are encoded in YCbCR420 (BluRay) or YCbCr422 (UHD BluRay) -
and it really isn't such a big deal!

Only in static images like Text-Work, or even PHOTO-Editing,
    i would not choose subsampling!
Yeah but if text in the Windows environment, web browsing, and some text in games is going to look really bad than i'm going have to pass on both monitors. Like I said, I tested YCbCR422 8 bpc on my current montior "ASUS MG279" using the Nvidia Control Panel and it looked like doo doo!

Really??? WTF? That's very mighty close. Your damage your eyes lol. I sit 2 feet 10" to 3 feet from the LCD to my eyeballs on a 27inch monitor.

In a age where we strap screens to our faces (ps vr/vive) it is no big deal. Besides that was a slight exaggeration.

Those screens are smaller though. And the lenses are focused in a way that it doesn't hurt your eyes. It's like trying on a new pair of glasses, your eyes have to get adjusted and in that process it kinda hurts your eye muscle. With VR the lens are focused in a way that you don't feel that discomfort.

Theres still no clarification about Acer full 10bit and Asus 10 bit with dithering.

    Acer's official specs say 10Bit https://us-store.acer.com/monitors/g...edium=referral

now that they are directly selling these, am pretty sure the specs r final.

After all these confusions, I think both monitors will have the same specs:

    Bit Depth: 8bit+FRC

Brightness: 300 nits (typical, SDR)/600 nits (typical, HDR)/1000 nits (peak, HDR)
