Prices in europe are always much higher than in the US, typically by a hundred or two for mid to high tier stuff, even when considering VAT. However, we have not seen a PC accessory this expensive before to know how big of a difference it would be. $1500 USD would be very reasonable. I believe in CES 2017 is was supposed to be about $1200. As the year progressed, it was said to be 2000 USD. At the same time, I believe the monitor was supposed to be 2000 Euros in Europe.
Using that info, hoping I remember it all correctly, the monitors are sure to be no less than 2000 USD, and can only be higher. That price is still ALOT more reasonable than the 3000 USD we've been hearing about lately.Last edited by kevinmaster5000; 05-05-2018 at 12:31 AM.

In the Anandtech article on the EU preorder pricing, they did the without-VAT math.
It's not really possible for this to be $3000 in the US. I expect either $2000 or $2500, leaning towards $2K because the psychological barrier of $1999 is a lot more palatable for their marketing than well over $2K.

Well that may not be necessarily true. They may try selling this monitor similar to their liquid cooled laptop, the ROG GX700. That thing is thousands of dollars and doesn't have anything that already didnt exist elsewhere besides the liquid cooling. This monitor is similar in that aspect where most of it's specs can be found elsewhere. They obviously didnt make it affordable, hence this monitor could be sold with similar ideology and very well be 3000 USD.
