However, after spending some time with CalMAN on the PG27UQ, we've learned that it's not quite that easy. After getting results of around 75% DCI-P3 coverage (as opposed to the claimed 97%), we decided to contact both ASUS and NVIDIA for feedback on our testing methodologies.

Technical marketing representatives from NVIDIA shared data that they gathered with one of these displays across a range of different colorimeters and Spectroradiometers. The conclusion they came to was that the only device capable of measuring the color accuracy to the same degree as the factory calibration of these displays is the Klein K-10A colorimeter, an almost $7000 device.

While we are willing to invest in testing equipment to accurately evaluate the claims of manufactures, $7000 is out of reason for this purpose
Holy ****, if you go on the page where they teardown the monitor, the G-Sync module is bigger and more advanced than before, whith 3 Gigabytes of 2400mhz DDR4 ram, jesus. The reviewer even estimates that just the module costs around 500$. This monitor basically has a computer in it.

What the hell is the supposed "major issue" that requires a mandatory firmware update via Asus anyways?

All I've seen about it is the one guy posting on this very thread claiming that some store in Germany was blocked from selling the monitor. No other issues detailed, no other specifics about it like maybe being a EU issue only or a worldwide issue.

Like, I don't want to doubt the guy cause I don't see the point in wasting all that time just to post misleading information 'for the lulz' or whatever. Chances are the rep from that store did tell him that.

But what the hell is busted that is requiring a potential recall of this monitor?

I cannot be more specific, but it's about picture quality, which I couldn't even replicate. That's why I don't want to spread fud and panic. Please wait for official channel.

    I was this guy... 'hello'
and you are right - i am far from posting bullsh** just for lol's and what not...
i clearly have other things to do - cause my exams are right around the corner...

in the meantime it was confirmed officially from pc-gaming sites in germany...

    http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Monito...Modul-1259422/

they even quoted my post in the overclock-forum...
which is a bit uncomfortable for me - because i just have a word from the service man i spoke to...
and besides of the info i got i have no other information...

but NEST seems to know more than me and could enlighten us with further information!

These monitors simply were not ready and seem to have been rushed with how overdue they were with mini LED monitors coming sooner than later.
